Welcome to our audio meditations as part of our journey to the summer solstice.

My name is Jordan and I'm here to help you find some time in the day and explore different ways to enjoy our journey.

These meditations are an invitation to take time out,

To take five minutes to turn inwards.

And so with that in mind,

I invite you to always find somewhere quiet,

Somewhere that you can close your eyes without disruption and give yourself these few moments in the day to reflect,

To pause and to enjoy the subject matter that we're exploring,

Which is this idea that we can take time out at this end of the calendar year to restore and to nourish ourselves.

And these audio meditations are just one of the ways that I'm inviting you to take part in this exploration.

So welcome to day one of our meditations.

This is the chance in our 10 day journey to reflect and to integrate some of our thinking and to feel this in our body and to use breath work as a way to connect our energetic ecosystem with our activities,

Our thinking and our reflections and give ourselves the chance to feel whole and to breathe out the tensions of the year and to be ready for summer and for relaxation.

So when you're ready,

Find a quiet space,

Get comfortable in a seated position and take a few deep breaths in and a few deep breaths out.

Today is our starting day.

We are giving ourselves permission to arrive at this wonderful place where we can start to slow down.

We allow ourselves to feel this first in our breath.

So close your eyes and focus on slow breaths in and slow breaths out.

If you can allow a pause between the in and the out breath,

Even better.

As you breathe,

Now turn on your imagination and see yourself arriving in the early morning at a beautiful beach with soft sand.

The sound of the ocean greets you.

The air is cool and fresh.

You're here to greet the sun and to be present as it ascends in the sky,

A recognition of this time in the year.

You're here to attune to the energy,

Spirit and power of the sun and to welcome it into your own body through your senses.

Breathing in,

Breathing out with slow deep breaths.

You watch the sun slowly peak over the horizon.

It's a soft honey yellow,

Calm and joyful.

The summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere arrives around the 22nd of December.

It's the longest,

Most light-filled day of the year.

And here on the beach,

You can sense this light even in the early morning,

This beautiful day full of light and full of clarity.

This is the journey that we're taking to this day in the year where we are immersed in the joy and vitality of the sun.

Today on our first step towards that journey,

We are turning our attention to the sun and to the power of solar energy and to connect our bodies with that power and feel our bodies re-energized and revitalized through that natural connection.

The cycle of the sun represents the cycle of our lives and reflects the natural flow of energy moving inwards and outwards.

Always occurring at the start of the Cancer Sun season,

The summer solstice reminds us to turn inwards and find the nourishment we need to grow and evolve.

As we stand on this beach,

We take time to acknowledge that we've given ourselves space and opportunity to do this work,

To turn inwards and to nourish ourselves so that we can nourish others as well.

So at this time of the year is a time to pause and wait for the energy planted in spring to reach full bloom.

If the spring represents action,

Summer represents patience.

We must develop trust and confidence in ourselves that what we set in motion previously is correct even if we go through some troubled times.

The summer solstice represents the transition from action to nourishment,

Which is exactly what the sun gives us during the long nights of summer.

Summer reminds us that there is hope in the world,

That the light within can spread to the far reaches of the globe and inspire others.

As we breathe in and out,

We come to this clear understanding that we can nurture others just as the sun nurtures us and we are taking this time to feel that nourishment right through our system.

Through honouring our journey to the summer solstice and to the day of maximum light,

We energetically set in motion a period of awakening in our consciousness which lasts all summer and enables us to move into the new year with strength and vitality.

So today as we stand on this beach,

We set our intention.

We set our intention to take this journey to the summer solstice.

So I invite you to visualise yourself taking time each day for the next 10 days to be present on this journey,

To be present with the sun and to be present with this nourishing inner journey.

Returning to the breath,

We take one breath in and one breath out.

And when you're ready,

Return to your day and enjoy this first day in our journey.
