Welcome!

I'm Jocelyn.

This is the sixth in a series of Journaling into the Chakras.

In this track,

I'll bring you through the Ajna or the Third Eye Chakra located at the center of the forehead.

So these tracks,

As I've been doing more,

I've realized just to listen to the meditation and visualization and begin to open and expand the energetic field of each chakra has a benefit all on its own.

But it's also a beautiful way to go deeper into understanding your relationship to each chakra through writing.

So you may be here as a creative writer looking to jump creatively and curiously into each chakra to see what stories and characters they hold for you.

Or you may be looking to explore each chakra in a personal way with your writing to really figure out your relationship with each chakra and find healing and inner wisdom within each chakra.

However you decide to use this track is beautiful.

We're going to start with a meditation and visualization.

So if you could find yourself in a comfortable position,

It might be sitting back in a chair or laying down in a bed or even on the floor and just allowing your awareness to turn inward.

There's so many things working all the time for us within our bodies.

So just allowing your awareness to settle inside and it might be busy there or it might not.

You might want to close your eyes down as your awareness turns inward.

Just allowing your awareness to move from the top of your head through the muscle of the mind down past the jaw,

The neck and throat,

Chest,

Upper spine,

Mid spine and lower spine.

Allowing your awareness to gently move across the hips,

The legs,

Knees,

Ankles and feet with a simple invitation to let go,

To release,

To lean in to the support beneath it.

So simply with your awareness moving,

Tracing along the body and we'll just take a few deep breaths to arrive.

So inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And while you're inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth,

Let your awareness settle on the cadence of inhale and exhale.

You might even feel the movement of each inhale and exhale across your body in different places.

You might notice that as we inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth,

Your body is beginning to feel into that support and lean into that support beneath it.

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And one more time,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

I'm going to bring you on a short rotation of consciousness,

Taking your awareness on a tour guide across your body.

All you have to do is listen to my voice.

When I invite your attention toward a part of your body,

Might you imagine at that place a blossoming,

Like a bud of a flower opening up its petals to the sun.

A gentle blossoming in each place that my voice guides your awareness.

And we'll start at the center of the forehead,

The Ajna,

The mind's eye,

Or the third eye.

Might you imagine a bud of a flower gently opening toward the sun,

Blossoming out,

Receiving the gifts of light.

The top of the head,

Blossoming,

Opening up toward the warmth of the sun at the top of the head.

The back of the head,

Like a bud opening up toward a morning sun.

A place where your skull meets your spine.

It's a place of ancient wisdom,

Our ancient brain.

Might you imagine a bud unfurling and opening up,

Blossoming toward a sun's ray.

The jaw on both sides,

Gentle buds opening and blossoming under the warmth of a sun.

Both temples,

Bridge of the nose,

Like a bud unfurling into the sunlight.

The tip of the nose,

Both nostrils,

Opening up like a flower unfurling for the morning light.

Both lips,

The tongue,

Your awareness,

Blossoming across the tongue,

The tip of the tongue.

The roof of the mouth,

Your awareness blossoming,

Opening up to receive the nutrients and the warmth of sunlight.

The nasal cavity,

And both eyes,

Eyelids,

Globes of the eyes,

Eyelashes,

Eye sockets,

And all the muscles behind the eyes.

Your awareness,

Like a bud of a flower opening up.

The muscle of the mind,

Unfurling,

Opening up like a flower.

Both ears,

Ear canal,

Folds of the ear,

Ear lobes.

Imagining your awareness at your ears,

Like a bud opening up to the sun's rays.

And the center of the throat,

Your awareness blossoming there,

Like a bud opening up to the warmth of the sun.

Easy.

The collarbone,

Both shoulders,

Effortlessly unfurling your awareness across both shoulders,

Blossoming like a bud of a flower.

Both arms,

Elbows,

Forearms,

Wrists,

Palms of the hands,

And all 10 fingers,

Awareness blossoming across and down those arms,

Unfurling for the warmth of sun,

Unfurling effortlessly toward the warmth of the sunlight.

Both armpits,

Ribs,

Front ribs,

Side ribs,

And back,

Blossoming across all of your ribs,

Opening up effortlessly.

The heart space,

The muscle of the heart,

The front of the heart,

Back of the heart,

And sides of the heart,

Gentle unfurling toward the warmth of the sun,

Like a flower.

The navel center,

The sacral center of the lower belly,

Unfurling and blossoming open effortlessly,

So naturally,

Your awareness blossoming,

Open,

Unfurling,

From the pelvic bowl out to both hips,

And down both legs,

Thighs,

And balls,

Effortlessly unfurling your awareness down to the feet,

The tops of the feet,

Bottoms of the feet,

And all 10 toes,

Might you imagine your awareness here,

Toward the sunlight,

Bringing your awareness back to the center of the forehead,

The Ajna,

The third eye,

The crown of the head,

Imagining again,

That bud of a flower,

Opening gently and effortlessly toward the sun,

The most natural act,

That a flower turn toward the sunlight,

And just witnessing it,

Bearing witness to the breath in your body,

Inviting a sense of awe at the function of breath in our body,

The way an inhale and exhale are like the ocean lapping on the shoreline,

Just witnessing each inhale and exhale,

As they roll in and out of your body,

And with your awareness here on your breath,

Might you imagine that each inhale is birthed in the center of the forehead,

And expands in all directions,

And might you imagine that each exhale brings the breath back to that center point at the mind's eye,

Just imagining that as your inhale is birthed,

It's birthed right in the center of that third eye chakra,

And the inhale expands it across in all directions,

And on each exhale,

That breath comes right back to the pinpoint center of the third eye chakra,

Allowing your breath to breathe you,

But just imagining that each breath is born in this chakra,

And each breath comes back to the center point of this chakra.

Each time you inhale,

That breath is born in the center of the mind's eye,

The ajna,

The third eye chakra,

And the inhale expands the breath in all directions,

And as you exhale,

That breath comes back in to the center point of the third eye chakra,

And might you bring your awareness now to the movement of that chakra.

Can you feel an energetic movement here at the center of the forehead?

Maybe it's circular or spiraling.

Maybe it's like static,

Or maybe it's wavy.

You might even not feel any flow at all,

But just witnessing the movement of energy here at the center of the forehead,

And let's just take three breaths to breathe life into that energy flow,

Allowing it to expand on each exhale.

So inhaling through your nose,

Exhaling through your nose,

Allowing that energetic flow to expand at the third eye.

Inhaling through your nose,

Exhaling through your nose,

Exhaling through your nose.

Allowing your awareness to expand the energetic flow here present in your third eye chakra.

Inhaling through your nose,

Exhaling through your nose.

I'm going to say a few words or ideas that are associated with the third eye chakra,

And might you just keep your awareness here at the center of the forehead,

And notice any responses as I say these words.

Awareness,

Intuition,

Insight,

Inner wisdom,

Pineal gland,

Vision,

Peace,

Humbleness,

Illusion.

The third eye is also connected to the nervous system.

I'll go through those words one more time and leaving your awareness here at your own third eye chakra.

Just notice any responses you have to these words.

Intuition,

Insight,

Insight,

Inner wisdom,

The pineal gland,

And the nervous system,

Illusion,

And peace.

We're going to explore this place of the third eye chakra or the Ajna.

So might you imagine that there is a miniature you sitting or standing right in the center of this chakra,

Right in the center of your mind's eye.

And imagine you were able to turn in 360 degrees here at the center of the third eye chakra.

What do you see?

Do you notice any sounds,

Any sound vibrations here at the Ajna?

Or maybe it's completely silent.

While you're here in the third eye chakra,

Do you notice any sensations in your body,

Across your skeleton,

Through your organs?

Do you notice any emotions beginning to well up?

Or maybe you just feel a sense of aliveness or calm.

Allow yourself to look closely at the things,

The ideas,

The colors,

The shapes,

The symbols,

Maybe even the people that surround you here.

What do you notice?

What's the environment like here at your third eye chakra?

You may see it clearly or you may not see anything.

We don't all see things.

Some of us know things or hear things.

Notice how you're picking up information here in the third eye chakra.

Might you imagine here in the center of your mind's eye,

Your pineal gland like a projector on a screen in front of you,

Telling a story.

Third eye chakra.

What is that story that it tells?

It might be from lifetimes long ago or from lifetimes in the future.

Might be from this present moment.

What story is being projected for you to experience?

You might say that a director of a film tells a story through the frame of his lens.

And might you imagine the projector of your pineal gland being the frame that tells this story.

What is it telling you?

What is it showing you?

Is it giving you?

It may be that you see it like a movie on a screen or maybe you just have a sense that you know what this story is.

It may be that you hear the dialogue or that you feel the emotions of the story welling up.

There's no right or wrong here.

It's just allowing the story to unfold for you.

And simply deepening your breath for a few breaths,

Inhaling into your belly,

Exhaling through your mouth,

Inhaling into your belly,

Exhaling through your mouth,

And exhaling through maybe wiggling your hands,

Your fingers,

Your toes,

Or your feet.

Allowing your body to stretch or move as it wants.

And going ahead and picking up your pen and paper or your tablet or keyboard and just allow yourself to list off what you remember from this visualization.

It might just be words,

Might be an image,

Or a storyline.

And give yourself the time to just allow what you experience to come out on the page.

And if you're here for writing personally to discover more about how your asana works,

Then you might want to journal deeper into the colors,

The symbols,

The responses that you had during that meditation.

Get curious,

Ask questions on your page.

Maybe you'll find an affirmation or a keystone for you to use to connect deeper with your third eye chakra.

And if you're here to write creatively,

You might have seen the beginnings of a character.

You might even write into if your third eye chakra was a person or a character,

What would they look like?

What would they tell you?

What would they sound like?

Or would their objective be in a story?

And you might begin there,

But you can also use any of the things you experienced in the visualization as a starting point for a story,

A poem,

A character,

Or a world.

So thank you all for coming in and meditating a bit with me into this third eye chakra.

I'm going to be playing some music for about 10 to 15 minutes.

There'll be different types of music.

Feel free to stay and write along with the music.

Or you can turn it off and go right in silence if that's what you'd prefer.

But thank you so much for joining me.

Namaste.
