Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
When you feel ready,
Gently close your eyes and begin to turn your attention inwards,
Tuning in to the sensations of your breath,
Allowing you to feel more present within your body.
Spending a few moments breathing in fully,
Easily on the exhale,
Giving yourself permission to relax.
As you continue to relax,
Imagine yourself standing by the banks of a peaceful flowing river.
The sunlight softly sparkles on the water's surface and the gentle sounds of the flowing water fills the air.
Take a few deep breaths in and feel the fresh spring air fill you up.
You can feel the fullness of each breath light you up inside.
You can feel the soft earth beneath your feet,
The sun above you.
To sing more of the breathtaking sights that surround you,
You see bright little kingfishers by the riverside with brilliant blue feathers,
Perching on the reeds and branches at the water's edge,
Diving into the cool,
Clear waters.
Beautiful trees in full bloom line the riverbanks.
The water's surface is a gentle,
Flowing,
Calm,
Calming place.
Fall from the trees and float on the surface of the gently flowing waters.
As you look down into the water,
You see large fish that seem to glow with radiant light as they swim in the waters below you.
You choose to find a comfortable place to sit under the comforting shade of a magnificent willow tree and take in the wonders of this peaceful place.
As you settle under the shade of the great willow tree,
You feel the peace and tranquility that surround you and take this moment to connect with nature,
Enjoying the simple pleasure of this moment and feeling inner peace settling within you.
Allow the soothing sounds of the flowing water to wash away any stress or tension that arises.
Take a deep breath in as you exhale.
Imagine that you are releasing all the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings that may still be within you.
Feeling strength of the great willow tree supporting you,
Listening to the relaxing sounds of the gently flowing water as it flows downstream.
Allow the energy of the river to carry away any worries and concerns,
Allowing them to effortlessly flow downstream.
As you listen to the sound of the flowing water,
Let any thoughts or distractions that arise flow down the river and simply enjoy being present in this moment.
Take deep restoring breaths.
Allow yourself to let go,
Surrendering to the peace of your surroundings.
Feel the gentle breeze moving through the blossoming branches of the willow trees,
Watching the light gently sparkle on the surface of the water.
Feeling yourself in this serene and peaceful place.
Enjoying this moment of rest,
Fixing into the flow of life,
Restoring your energy and breathing life into your spirit.
As this meditation draws to a close,
You notice the setting sun,
Watching the soft pastel sky casting a warm glow all around you,
Taking a moment to notice how you feel and appreciate the sense of calm and tranquility that you have cultivated.
Relaxed and refreshed,
Ready to carry the sense of inner peace within you into the waking world.
Ready to return to the present,
Feeling calm and centered,
Ready for whatever life may bring.
Feeling the changes that have taken place,
Feeling them integrate and gently experience this practice.
