This meditation is designed to help your child relax into a healing sleep. It's perfect for use during times of sickness, illness, or injury. It begins with a guided breathing and body relaxation exercise, with the positive message of the body's ability to heal itself sprinkled throughout. It ends with a guided visualization of Panda Land, where your child uses their imagination to feel a healing power strengthening them from within. This practice is best suited for children ages 5-12. Hello,

Dear friend.

It's time to rest and to heal.

In a moment,

We'll journey to the most magical place,

Panda Land,

A place of comfort and healing.

As you prepare for the journey there,

Focus on taking some deeply healing breaths.

Breathe in through your nose as you imagine your lungs filling up like a balloon,

And breathe out your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.

Again,

Fill up the balloon and blow out the candle.

One more,

Filling up,

And letting go.

Remind yourself that your body knows how to heal,

Trusted to heal itself now.

With each breath,

Feel yourself sink into your soft bed,

As soft as a pool filled with feathers.

It makes you feel so relaxed,

Comfortable,

And safe.

Your body is sinking deeper and deeper into a peaceful place.

Feel the feathery pillow beneath you,

Letting your head sink into it,

Letting go of all tightness.

All the muscles in and around your face soften,

Your forehead relaxes,

Your eyes close gently,

Your cheeks become softer,

And your mouth relaxes,

All becoming soft and so relaxed.

With your next breath in,

Breathe into your back and neck,

Releasing the tightness of any extra energy you are holding onto.

Your shoulders drop down and away from your ears,

Your chest relaxes,

And your back sinks deeper and deeper into the feathery bed.

As your upper body relaxes so fully and completely,

Feel any pain now sink down and away from your body.

Sinking down and away,

Down and away,

Down and away.

Breathe into your body now,

Letting that healing energy surround your stomach.

It fills your tummy with healing light.

Let that breath continue down your legs,

Your knees,

Your ankles,

Your feet,

And all the way down to your toes.

Feel your whole body relax completely into the bed,

Sinking deeper and deeper.

Your whole body fills with healing light now.

Notice what color it is.

The light pulses strongly.

Watch the beautiful color of that healing light pulse along with your beating heart.

Feel yourself let go of anything that's hurting you.

With each breath,

Your body fills with oxygen.

Just by breathing,

You bring into your body everything it needs to heal.

Give your body what it needs now.

You feel peaceful,

Relaxed,

And hopeful,

Knowing that your body can heal itself.

With your whole body completely relaxed,

Turn on your imagination.

Imagine yourself journeying to a most magical place,

Panda Land.

You can even see it just ahead.

You feel excitement and joy.

Notice what it looks like from a distance.

Perhaps you can see the mountains surrounded by puffy popcorn clouds.

The tall bamboo trees swaying in the gentle breeze.

The lush green plants and bright flowers all around.

Your excitement grows as you hear birds sing their beautiful songs.

And now you are here.

You enter Panda Land.

Feel safety,

Joy,

Love now.

You see pandas munching on the bamboo.

Look at their cute black and white faces smiling back at you.

Welcoming you to this peaceful place.

You sense this is a healing place.

Pandas are healers too.

As you step closer to the pandas,

You feel your body become stronger.

You feel that healing light in your body grow even brighter.

Now you're right in front of one of the most friendly looking pandas you've ever seen.

Take a moment to say hello.

Perhaps this panda reaches his arms out to hug you.

Welcome this embrace,

Knowing that you are safe and he is a friend.

As you feel his soft fur wrap around you like a blanket,

You know his presence is healing.

It is as if this hug is helping you heal.

Take a moment to be with this panda,

To play,

To play and to enjoy each other's company.

Pandas help you heal.

Your body continues to heal,

Growing stronger and stronger and stronger.

You are so glad you made a new panda friend.

You can stay in this wonderful place as long as you'd like and as long as you need.

And when you're ready,

Find a nice,

Comfortable place to lie down and rest.

Feel yourself sink into a restful state,

Deeper and deeper.

You are experiencing the most healing sleep you've ever known,

Right now.

That's right.

Very good.

Rest and heal well,
