Welcome to this talk named do your best always.

If there were only one thing I could teach in this life it would be this.

Do your best always.

Maybe you've played a sport and felt that you didn't give everything you had.

You knew it in your body you were holding back and it's not fun.

You know this feeling when you're not giving it all it's not as satisfying it's like halfway there and even worse is playing with someone who really isn't trying.

Something in this says come on give yourself to this otherwise what was the point?

Because what makes a game and what makes life meaningful is that we show up fully and do as good as we can or else you just don't have to try.

When you do your best you meet yourself at your growing edge.

You step into that state of flow where the rest of the world fades and you're simply present with what is in right in front of you.

I know you've felt this before those moments when effort becomes ease,

Time softens and you feel completely alive.

This can be talking to someone,

Solving a task,

Do sports,

Play the piano,

Swim,

Whatever.

But this is what's called flow and in that space you learn,

You grow,

You really express the potential already living inside of you.

You become in a very real way the most honest and the most true version of yourself.

And something beautiful happens when you know you're doing your best no matter the outcome.

The fear of failing loosens its grip.

If you know you you do the best you can do well then it doesn't matter if you don't succeed.

The chase for approval and grades and praise and promotions,

Acceptance,

All that external noise finally I would say begins to fade away.

On the other side if you keep trying to succeed based on other people's expectations life becomes a battlefield.

You try and you try and sometimes you get their confirmation,

Sometimes you don't and you're unsure of yourself.

You speak up,

You share something true and afterwards your mind spirals like,

Oh did I say the right thing?

What did they think of me?

But you don't have to live like that.

To tell yourself I'm not perfect but I'm willing to give my best that is true freedom.

That is when your actions begin to flow from the heart rather than from your mind,

From fear.

And yes sometimes you try with your whole being and things still don't unfold the way you hoped.

Then what?

Do you give up?

Do you run away?

No,

No please don't.

You pause,

You breathe and you ask yourself what can I learn from this?

How can I show up differently next time?

Why didn't it work?

And then you're gonna do your best the next time which will be even better because you've learned.

And this is how life goes.

We learn and we learn.

The truth is in the moment you acted you really did your best with the knowledge,

Experience and emotions you had at the time.

Next time you may do better precisely because you have lived this moment.

That is the nature of growth.

The quiet wisdom within doing your best.

In yoga philosophy we have karma yoga.

Action without attachment to the result.

So deep.

Offering your full effort,

Your full presence and then letting go of the outcome.

Because something in you just wants to contribute,

Wants to give your full attention,

Wants to be in flow and do your best.

Because using yourself and really pushing your potential it feels fully true.

So please stop measuring your worth by the outcome.

Stop looking back and wondering if what you did was good enough.

It was your best.

If you did your best it was your best.

Now it's time to continue from there.

From there you can grow,

Learn and stay open.

When you live this way life opens up.

Meaning reveals itself.

Joy begins to flow more freely.

You do your best.

You know you do your best.

You put your whole heart into it and you don't care about the outcome.

And you'll notice a deep sense of alignment of being in the current of your own life.

You're living in this flow,

This current.

A lot more in the intellect of your body and a lot less in your mind and if you could have done something better and what ifs.

So all you really need to remember is this.

Do your best.

Always.

Because when you do your best,

Your absolute best,

You put your whole focus into it,

Then you know you've done your best.

Then you don't have to worry about anything.

Because you know you're learning and using your potential.

You're exactly where you're supposed to be.

You couldn't have done anything better.

So do your best.

Always.

Thank you.
