Good evening.

Tonight we're going on a fairy special adventure.

A magical Halloween journey with Sophie and her magic carpet.

So snuggle in,

Get comfy and let's begin.

Sophie had just finished tucking herself into bed when the soft glow of her bedroom shifted.

The shadows danced gently along the walls and the air smelled faintly of cinnamon and crisp autumn leaves.

Beside her bed the magic carpet shimmered again,

Rippling like a pond in sunlight.

Sophie blinked.

Are we going on another adventure tonight?

She whispered.

The carpet gave a joyful flutter and lifted gently off the floor.

Sophie rested back on it,

Feeling its warm softness beneath her.

Where should we go?

Asked the carpet.

Sophie thought for a moment and said,

I want to see Halloween tonight.

With a swirl of twinkling colours and a rush of cool autumn air,

The carpet lifted off through her window,

Whooshing into the night sky.

The neighbourhood below sparkled with tiny lanterns and twinkling lights.

Children ran from house to house,

Their costumes bright and imaginative.

Witches with hats that twirled,

Superheroes with capes fluttering,

Tiny ghosts and pumpkins skipping along the sidewalks.

Sophie's carpet floated high above,

Giving her a perfect view.

She rested back,

Letting the world drift under her,

Cosy and safe,

Like she was wrapped in a warm hug.

The world below looked like a patchwork quilt of colours and laughter.

She noticed a quiet street glowing softly with warm orange light.

There,

A kind neighbour was working on something special.

Sophie watched,

Eyes wide with wonder.

The neighbour carefully carved a pumpkin.

First they cut out a wide happy smile,

Then two gentle eyes that twinkled with kindness.

Sophie watched as each careful slice made the pumpkin come alive,

Its face full of warmth and joy.

Then the neighbour placed a small gentle candle inside the pumpkin.

The flame flickered softly,

And the pumpkin glowed a beautiful golden light.

Sophie's eyes grew wide,

The light spilled out into the night like a tiny sun,

Casting gentle shadows that danced across the lawn.

As Sophie admired the glowing jack-o-lantern,

The neighbour noticed her.

With a kind smile,

She picked up the pumpkin and holding it carefully,

Said,

This is for you little one.

Sophie rested back on her carpet,

Feeling safe and warm,

And watched as the pumpkin floated gently towards her.

Sophie nestled back on her carpet,

Holding the jack-o-lantern carefully.

I'm going to let your light fill me up,

She whispered.

She closed her eyes and imagined the warm golden glow spreading slowly from the lantern into her hands.

It moved up her arms,

Soft and gentle,

And flowed into her chest,

Filling her heart with calm.

The light drifted down her legs,

Into her toes,

And all the way up into her head,

Like sunshine filling every corner of her body.

She breathed slowly,

Imagining the golden glow expanding with each breath.

In,

The light fills me,

Out,

It softens me.

Her arms and legs felt heavy and warm,

Her chest rose and fell slowly,

And her mind felt calm and quiet,

Just like the gentle night around her.

Sophie rested and let the adventure come to her,

Watching the world glow and hum softly beneath her.

The carpet drifted above the neighbourhood,

Carrying Sophie in a cocoon of golden light,

Warm and safe.

Soon,

The carpet turned gently,

Flying back towards her bedroom.

Sophie tapped the jack-o-lantern safely on her bedside table.

The carpet floated down softly,

Settling back on the floor beside her bed,

Shimmered one last time,

Flickering like a tiny spark of magic.

Good night magic carpet,

Sophie murmured.

Good night golden light,

She whispered to the lantern.

Sophie snuggled under her blankets,

Feeling warm,

Safe and calm.

The golden glow lingered in her mind like a gentle hug from the night.

She took one last slow breath in and out,

Letting her body sink into the softness of her bed.

Good night my friend.
