Good evening,

It's Gina here.

Tonight we're joining Lily and her gentle unicorn friend Starwin for a peaceful journey to a secret meadow.

So snuggle in,

Get comfy and let's begin.

The sun was warm and golden as Lily leaned over her windowsill.

A few butterflies danced across her garden and the air smelled sweet.

Lily sighed,

Wishing she could go on an adventure.

Just then she saw the foliage move outside her window and something emerged from the forest.

Starwin is that you?

Lily smiled.

With a soft rhythmic canter,

Starwin the unicorn stepped out into the light,

Her mane flowing in soft waves of silver and lavender.

Hello Lily,

Starwin said in a quiet melodic voice.

Would you like to visit the meadow of dreams today?

Lily's eyes lit up.

Oh yes,

Yes please.

Lily ran outside to meet her friend,

Greeting her with a hug.

Starwin lowered her head and Lily climbed gently onto her back.

Her coat felt warm and smooth and her mane tickled Lily's hands like soft feathers.

With one graceful step,

Starwin began to trot and then the two friends headed into the forest.

The journey was peaceful.

They trotted past rolling hills,

Sparkling rivers and the forest shifted from green to gold as the sun moved across the sky.

Soon,

Starwin slowed as they reached a wide,

Secret valley.

A meadow stretched before them.

Soft grasses,

Rippling like waves,

Dotted with every colour flower Lily could imagine.

Gentle blues,

Warm pinks,

Pale yellows,

Deep purples.

Woah!

Lily whispered as she slid down from Starwin's back.

It didn't matter how often Lily came here,

It never failed to take her breath away.

She wandered through the flowers,

Brushing her fingers across soft petals.

The friends spent the afternoon exploring,

Making flower crowns,

Watching butterflies drift lazily in the warm air,

Listening to the humming of bees and lying in the grass to watch clouds drift slowly across the sky.

It was the kind of afternoon that felt timeless.

Eventually,

The sunlight softened.

The sky turned peach,

Then lavender,

Then a soft,

Dusky blue.

Fireflies peeked out from the tall grasses,

Blinking faintly like the stars.

Lily lay in the soft grass.

The crickets chirped.

A warm breeze brushed her cheeks and the sky above glowed with the first sprinkling of stars.

Lily rested her hand on Starwin's warm neck.

Can we do our breathing practice here?

She whispered.

Starwin nodded gently.

Yes,

This is the perfect place.

If you are listening at home,

Feel free to join Lily and Starwin as they take some deep breaths.

Breathing in,

One,

Two,

Filling up your tummy.

Again,

Breathing out,

One,

Two,

Three,

Letting the air out through your mouth.

Again,

In,

One,

Two,

And out,

One,

Two,

Three.

Once more,

In,

One,

Two,

And out,

One,

Two,

Three.

Lily felt her whole body become warm and heavy,

A kind of calm that comes at the end of a beautiful day.

I think it's about time to go home,

Starwin said at last.

Lily climbed onto her back once more.

With the light of the stars shining down on her,

Starwin was able to fly.

She started at a trot,

Then rose gently into the sweet night air.

With the fireflies twinking below them and the stars from above,

Lily felt like she was totally immersed in the magical night sky.

The last tiny orange of the sunset disappeared from the sky as Starwin flew across the quiet land.

Lily leaned against her,

Growing sleepier.

They landed softly outside Lily's home.

Starwin nuzzled her cheek.

Rest well,

Lily.

The meadow will always be here when you need peace.

Lily gave Starwin another big hug and said goodnight,

Before climbing down and heading towards her home.

Lily slept inside,

Got into her softest pyjamas and curled up in bed.

She closed her eyes,

Her breath rose and fell.

Memories of the meadow still fresh in her mind,

And dreams drifted in like soft petals on the wind.

If you've enjoyed this adventure,

Perhaps you'd like to join us again tomorrow night.

Until then,

Goodnight my friend.
