Welcome,
This is a space to slow down,
To soften,
To gently let go of the day behind you.
You might be lying down or simply sitting in a quiet space.
Allow your body to settle,
Feel the ground beneath you.
The way your back,
Your shoulders,
Your legs are held by gravity.
Begin to notice your breath,
Noticing it as it is.
No need to deepen it,
Just feel it,
In and out.
Let your attention gently scan the body,
From the top of your head,
Down to the jaw,
The neck,
The shoulders.
Invite softness,
If it's available.
Continue downward,
Into the chest,
Belly,
Hips.
Notice what's there,
Warmth,
Coolness,
Pressure,
Stillness.
If your mind is busy,
That's okay.
Gently come back,
To your body,
To your breath.
You might whisper inwardly,
I am safe to let go.
Feel the back of your body held,
Supported.
Let yourself sink just a little more into that support.
The day is done,
You don't need to carry it now.
You've arrived at the edge of rest.
And as we close,
You might ask,
What can I leave behind tonight?
Let your body hold the answer.
Thank you for meeting yourself here.
Go gently.
