We have a full moon in Cancer on January 3rd to kick off this new year and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do tonight,
But I've sat with it for a bit and I want to talk about beginnings because so often we look at January,
New Year's,
As a time for setting intentions and resolutions and kicking off a fresh start.
That's great.
But there's something even more beautiful that occurs this time of year and that is winter and stillness and like a sacred vessel that holds us before we're ready to bloom into our next becoming.
So for January,
For this moon,
This time in particular,
I think it's a beautiful time to sit and honor what has passed and perhaps hold a little ceremony to say some goodbyes,
To be still and present before jumping in what's next and I think so often we move from one thing to the next that we don't often take time to honor the endings.
So yes,
This is a fresh start and a fresh beginning and I definitely want to get into that energy,
But I also want to make sure that we're holding space for the ending.
I like to think of January as a threshold month.
So as it arrives,
It arrives as a threshold to a lot of different energies.
One of those being a brand new one-year cycle.
In numerology,
If you take the numbers of the year and add them together,
You get the number for the year and so for 2025,
We did 2 plus 2 plus 5,
Which gave us 9.
For 2026,
We do 2 plus 2 plus 6,
Which equals 10 and that comes down to number 1.
Number 1 is all about origin and initiation and the courage to begin again,
Whereas a number 9 is all about closing and endings.
So not only do we have this coming up in the cycle of December to January and closing out one year and opening up a new one,
But we also have it from a numerology standpoint.
With this,
The sun right now is moving through Capricorn.
This beginning is not impulsive.
It is very grounded and intentional and carved with purpose.
Capricorn reminds us that every great beginning ends with a single devoted step,
That it's disciplined,
Structured,
And soul aligned and it's about that ambition that is held in the bones and in the dreams.
So as you think about your next steps and you think about what this year will hold for you and the intentions that you want to put to it,
I invite you to tune into your body.
Ask before you go to sleep,
What should I focus on this year?
Help me,
Guide me,
Lead me,
Show me,
Allow me to remember and just see what comes through rather than trying to force what you in your mind think is the right next step or the right intention,
Allow it to come through naturally and we do that by simply asking.
This month is going to ask you to do that,
This deep inner listening,
This gnosis,
Which is that deep inner knowing to choose with intention and to trust that quiet spark that begins to rise inside because here you are starting and planting the seeds not just for this year but for this new nine year cycle that we are starting.
It's also the year of the horse in Chinese astrology and I'm going to get more into some spirit animals and guidance but what I'll say right now is that the horse brings this energy of momentum and fire and like the ability to charge forward and like full steam ahead kind of thing so you're really going to be supported this year in moving through this new energy so whatever you call in you will be able to really have the momentum and the power behind it to move and make changes.
This is a subtle and powerful energetic doorway that is opening.
This month we also have Saturn in Pisces and that is a time of blending this discipline with innovation,
Dreams with practicality and this ancient wisdom with future vision so you think about everything that you are bringing with you as you start to create something new.
Saturn is steady.
It is spiritually grounded and it has this guidance that comes with it whereas Uranus brings us sudden insights creating an atmosphere where breakthroughs become embodied and long-held dreams find real world footing so we start to put these ideas towards the end of the month.
These seeds that we're planting intentionally we begin to see them materialize in some way.
It's a moment where those things in our head start to take shape in the real world.
This is also a time when Mercury enters Aquarius and that helps shift the mind into a higher state of awareness.
Thoughts begin to turn brighter,
Bolder and more future oriented.
You may feel a spark of originality,
A desire to speak your truth or a sudden clarity about the direction that your life is taking so what I would invite you to do is as you're listening in and tuning in and asking for those questions if you don't feel or hear or get a sense of knowing right away just sit with it and see what happens as the month unfolds.
This is not for some of you it may be like an overnight aha moment others it may not be and you'll be surprised if you just hold the intention of what you're looking for and what you're calling in and like this curiosity what actually shows up and to allow the space for it to show up in its own time.
It's like a perfect blend that is forming of inspiration,
Clarity and steady progress.
It's a time for insights to truly land,
Creativity to build and ideas that might just change everything about the course of your future.
I want to give you a little guiding energy for the month ahead again it's a threshold month so sitting with quiet deliberate humming and a promise of renewal the story of beginning again but now you're doing that with clarity and direction you're inviting in structure and responsibilities as you embark on a new path with courage throughout the month the medicine that you want to lean into is that of patience the reminder that foundations take time to build and the most powerful beginnings are born from that inner steadiness.
I pulled a tarot card for the month and the one that spoke to me was the magician.
The magician urges us to claim our power with their with clarity gather all the tools needed speak your intentions with conviction and trust that you already have everything that you need.
This is a month to lay the groundwork to set your compass and to prepare the structures that will carry you throughout the year ahead.
The magician has all of these tools laid out in front of him and he's ready and prepared for that.
As you want to harness the energy of the full moon that is here on January 3rd it's going to ask you to really lean in and think about those foundations and where you need support.
It's going to ask the questions are you getting the support that you need and what existing structures in the in your life are serving you and which ones need adjustment.
This is going to being in cancer the moon in cancer is going to illuminate the areas between your career and your home life between ambition and comfort and between action and reflection.
So it's interesting again this action and reflection piece is really the one that speaks to me because I'm thinking of reflecting back on last year this past nine years and then the ambition of what you're calling in to move forward and the action to do that.
So it's it's a again this threshold that we're in.
You'll use this clarity that you get from this full moon to strengthen your own inner compass to align your priorities and to prepare yourself for the year ahead and as you do that I want you to think about what wisdom you have gathered throughout your whole life and all of your experiences that you can now use to guide the rest of your journey.
To think about yourself as the magician and you've got all these tools and all these items in your toolkit which ones are you going to pull on to use as you move forward.
