Hi Yogis,
Meditators,
Seekers of the Soul.
My name is Kasey Winger and I would like to invite you on a journey to meet with your inner child to begin a conversation.
The inner child lives within all of us.
It is often a place that gets triggered when we feel super emotional or a heightened state of unrest.
It tends to stem from this inner child within us who doesn't have the words,
The rational thoughts to be able to express what is going on.
So for today I will invite you to begin to tune in and to listen to discover where your child self lives within your body and what they need in those moments of unrest.
What they need to heal,
To be seen,
To be nurtured and nourished.
So come into a comfortable seat,
Either sitting or lying down,
Your choice.
For this particular meditation I would recommend lying down so that you are not holding anywhere in your body and you can allow yourself to fully be here.
Turn off or silence your phone so that there are no distractions taking you out of this experience.
Grab a pillow and a blanket,
Something that brings you comfort and warmth.
Turn off or dim the lights and settle in.
Take a deep breath in through the nose.
Exhale,
Sigh it out.
Do that again,
Inhale fully and exhale,
Sigh and release.
Begin to relax your body by closing your eyes,
Unclenching your jaw,
Allowing the tongue to gently fall away from the roof of the mouth,
Gently tucking the chin to elongate the back of the neck,
Adjusting your shoulders,
Relaxing across your upper back,
Middle back,
Lower back,
Relaxing the wrists and the hands,
Both arms down into the hips,
The legs,
Your knees,
Ankles and feet,
Allowing your body to fully relax to land here now in this space,
In this timeline,
On this planet.
Be here now.
Begin to think of yourself as a child.
Allow your mind to wander.
Give yourself time to find yourself.
Find who you were before the world began to impart its ideas,
Its beliefs on you.
Who were you before?
As you begin to imagine this child,
This self at a very young stage,
Begin to notice in your body if there's any areas,
Any sensations.
Begin to listen.
Remember a happy memory from your childhood.
Remember the feeling of being free,
Of possibility,
Allowing your mind to wander through all the memories and all the places that you've been.
And as you're with this child,
Ask her,
Ask him,
Ask them,
Where in my body do you live?
Where in my body can I feel and connect with you?
Know that they may not respond with words,
But sensations,
Maybe a coolness or a warmth that you feel in a certain part of your body,
Perhaps a tingling sensation,
Maybe a gentle pull or a nudge.
Listen and feel.
And then ask them,
What is it that you need?
How can I support you?
How can I hold you?
Ask them for any messages that they have for you.
Take one more moment with your childhood self and thank them for showing up for you,
For being here with you.
Thank them for all of the lessons,
All of the companionship over the years.
If there was an area that felt activated during that time,
Place your hand over that area now.
Allowing the warmth and the comfort of yourself here in this moment to be with your childhood self as you gently awaken and bring yourself back.
And gently start to wiggle your fingers and your toes and open your eyes.
Whenever you're ready,
There is no rush.
If anything came up for you that you would like to write down to journal so that you may remember it in the future,
I always encourage you to do so.
Take time with yourself.
Be patient.
Know that you are loved and held and safe here in this moment.
Thank you for journeying with me today.
Blessed be.
