Welcome back to Betrayal Alchemy.
This is the stage of dissolution.
Here we work with the element of water,
The sacred unraveling,
Where the fire of what once was burns away and the waters come to cleanse what remains.
You've walked through the fire,
You've stood in its light,
And now we turn toward the cool stillness that follows.
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of the forest.
Behind you,
The smoke rises from the trees,
A soft reminder of all that has been burned away.
Before you,
The air feels heavy,
Almost blue.
You can't quite tell what time of day it is.
The sky hangs in that in-between place,
Not fully day,
Not fully night.
Clouds move slowly overhead,
Thick and low.
You begin to walk,
The ground is soft beneath your feet,
And your only guidance is to keep the smoke at your back.
You move towards a small break in the trees ahead,
A natural opening is formed and it's calling you forward.
As you step through the dense wood,
The world opens before you.
A lake rests in stillness,
The surface like glass,
Mirroring the clouds above.
There is no wind,
No movement,
Only the quiet.
You take a seat at the water's edge.
When you look down and peer inside,
You see yourself perfectly reflected back.
Take a moment here and really see yourself.
You release the eyes of judgment,
Of longing,
Of loss,
And you see yourself simply as you are,
A witness,
A soul.
Allow your eyes to soften and let them blur slightly as you gaze.
You begin to notice your reflection shifting.
The boundaries between you and the water begin to dissolve.
And now,
It is if you are the reflection,
You are the one within the water,
Looking up at yourself sitting on the shore.
You allow yourself to lean into that awareness,
Drifting forward,
Merging with the surface,
Slipping gently into the lake.
The water embraces you immediately,
Cool,
Weightless,
Holding you without condition.
You float,
Your eyes open to the sky,
Allowing yourself to be held.
The clouds grow darker,
Heavier,
And you can feel emotion rising from within them,
Above and below.
The sadness,
The grief,
The disappointment,
The ache of betrayal itself,
The quiet heartbreak that you've carried alone.
You allow it to come,
No name,
Just feeling.
And as you do,
The sky responds.
Raindrops begin to fall,
Cool,
Soft,
Steady.
Each drop touches your skin,
And as it does,
It washes something away,
Ash from the fire,
Residue from the past,
Stories that no longer belong to you.
You are being cleansed,
Dissolved,
But not destroyed,
Undone in the most sacred way.
You allow the waters to take what no longer serves.
Allow them to absorb your pain,
Your fear,
Your exhaustion.
Allow them to hold.
Hold it all.
You are safe.
You are held.
You are being remade.
As the rain deepens,
Your body begins to feel heavier,
Fuller,
More saturated.
When you are ready,
You allow yourself to sink slowly and peacefully beneath the surface.
No fear,
No resistance,
Only complete surrender.
You drift in the quiet,
Dark of the lake.
Here in the stillness,
You become one with the water,
No longer separate from what holds you.
You are the current,
The flow,
The dissolution itself.
You stay until you feel completely dissolved.
And then gently you begin to rise again.
You notice the light coming through the surface of the water and changing you.
The rain has softened and the clouds are parting.
You make your way towards the opposite shore,
A new place,
A new beginning.
You step onto the earth,
Feeling the grass beneath your feet.
And you lie back,
Letting the warmth of the ground rise up to meet you.
You've traveled so far.
When you take a deep breath in,
Exhale slowly.
Again,
Breathing in the air of renewal and sighing out the last remnants of what once was.
When you're ready,
Begin to return to your body,
Your breath,
Your space.
Knowing that everything that dissolved in the water has created a room for something new to be born.
Thank you very much.
