You love it.
Find your way into a seated position.
Allow your spine to rise like a stalk of wheat reaching for the sun,
And let your sit bones root deeply into the chair or the floor beneath you.
Come home to the sanctuary of your own presence.
Find a posture that feels like a soft yes to your own life.
We are here to create a wider room within,
A spaciousness that holds the many colors of your being in a grand and gentle embrace.
There are moments when the world feels vast,
When the sensations of life press against the boundaries of your skin,
Inviting you to grow.
This is the edge of your window of tolerance,
The holy boundary of your grace.
We are here to gently,
Lovingly lean into these edges,
Inviting the frame to expand until there is enough room for your whole story to breathe in the light.
You are a magnificent landscape.
Within you,
There are mountains of strength and valleys of deep sensitivity,
All forming one continuous and sacred earth.
In this somatic inquiry,
We are remembering that you are the vessel that is inherently strong,
Naturally flexible,
And infinitely capable of holding the tide of your own beautiful feeling.
Let us begin by noticing the physical geography of your safety.
Feel the firm,
Honest pressure of the surface beneath you.
This is your emerald light,
The color of a deep forest after a rain,
Pulsing at the center of your chest.
With every inhale,
This green light expands,
Brushing against the internal walls of your rib cage with the softness of a summer breeze.
We begin our first somatic movement.
Bring your attention to your hands.
Squeeze them into soft,
Intentional fists,
Feeling the vibrant density of your own power.
Hold this gathered energy for 3,
2,
1,
And now let them bloom open.
Let the fingers stretch wide,
Reaching for the air.
Feel the rush of life returning to the palms.
This is your capacity to hold,
And your capacity to release into the flow.
Let's do that one more time.
Squeezing your hands into fists,
Holding the energy for 3,
2,
1,
And release,
Blooming the fingers open.
Now,
We will invite the spine into the dance.
As you inhale,
Gently arch your back,
Lifting your heart toward the sky and allowing your gaze to rise.
Feel the front of your body opening like a sail catching the wind.
As you exhale,
Slowly round your spine,
Hugging your chin toward your chest,
And hugging your shoulders forward.
Let's do that again.
Inhale,
Arch your back,
Lifting your chest,
Gazing upward gently,
And exhale,
Slowly round your spine.
Release and tuck your chin.
Release the shoulders forward,
As if you're creating a safe,
Quiet cocoon.
Now,
Move between these two shapes once or twice more,
Feeling the beautiful flexibility of your central pillar.
Our third movement brings us to the foundation of your seat.
While remaining seated,
Slowly extend your right leg forward and begin to point your toes away from you,
Feeling the long line of energy through the shin.
Then,
Flex your foot back toward your knee,
Feeling the strength of your calf and the grounding presence of your heel.
Lower that leg and repeat with the other side.
Do this three times on each side,
Pulsing with the breath.
You are claiming the space you stand upon.
You are anchoring your light into the earth.
Now,
Breathe into the very bottom of your lungs.
Imagine you are breathing into the soles of your feet.
As you exhale,
Imagine your breath moving through the walls of the room,
Expanding your field of awareness into the infinite.
You are a vast horizon.
If a sensation arises that feels intense,
Simply imagine that green forest light wrapping around it,
Giving it more space to exist.
You are an ever-growing architecture.
You are a house with many windows and wide open doors built to let the light circulate through every hallway.
Say these words silently to yourself.
I am spacious.
I am resilient.
I am a vessel of light.
Take a deep,
Celebratory breath,
Feeling the ribs expand in all directions,
Front,
Back,
And sides.
As you return to the world,
Carry this sense of expansion with you.
Know that your window is wide,
Your heart is capable,
And you have all the room you need to be fully,
Vibrantly alive.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
I wish for your day many blessings and much peace,
Beautiful soul.
