Many of us move through life quietly,
Troubled by self-judgment,
Believing that we should look different,
We should feel different,
Or we should be someone entirely different.
We criticize our appearance,
Regret our past choices,
And suppress emotions that we think we shouldn't have.
We measure ourselves against some ideals,
Some other people,
We hide our sensitivities and feel we are falling behind.
Some of us even wish that we were tougher,
Less kind,
Less soft.
But your tenderness is not a flaw,
It is part of your strength.
This meditation is a peaceful space to lay down those inner burdens and return to yourself with compassion and grace.
Now take a deep breath,
Inhale acceptance,
And exhale judgment.
One more time.
Inhale acceptance,
And exhale judgment.
You are safe here.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Let your hands rest gently on your lap or over your heart.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
With each breath,
Feel your entire body settling,
Becoming more quiet.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the earth beneath you.
Let go of expectations,
Let go of the need to perform,
This space is simply to be.
Now inhale presence,
And exhale resistance.
Inhale presence,
And exhale resistance.
You are here.
You are enough.
Now,
Gently repeat to yourself,
Either out loud or silently.
I am allowed to take up space.
I am not broken.
I am living.
I am becoming.
I release the need to be perfect.
I welcome all of me,
Even the parts I've judged or hidden.
I am learning to love myself as I am,
Not as I think I should be.
Let these words echo in your heart,
Not as something to strive for,
But as something that is already true.
Now,
Imagine walking along a peaceful path in nature.
The air is soft.
The light is golden.
As you walk,
You notice a figure ahead.
And as you get closer,
You realize it is you,
But not as others see you.
It is the part of you that has always been whole and complete.
The one who has never stopped believing in your worth.
This version of you looks at you with kind eyes.
There is no judgment here,
Only love.
Walk towards this version of you.
Notice how this version of you smiles gently.
Notice the warm presence.
Now,
Allow it to speak to you and listen to the words.
You are worthy of love.
You are not defined by your past.
You are not too much.
You are not too little.
You are simply,
Beautifully you.
Feel those words settle deep into your being.
Let yourself receive them fully.
Now,
Place a hand on the heart of this version of yourself.
And allow it to place its hand on your heart.
Let the energy of compassion move between you.
Allow the energy of compassion move between this version of yourself and you.
You are coming home to yourself at this moment.
Now,
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale gently and exhale fully.
Begin to feel the space around you.
Move your fingers and toes around.
Know that the love you felt is still within you.
It never left.
Now,
Place both hands on your heart.
And as you breathe,
Say one final affirmation.
I am in harmony.
I am loved.
I am in love.
