Welcome to Inside the Body series,
A space where we explore the healing intelligence of the body through rest,
Breath,
And awareness.
Today's journey is cellular repair for sleep.
Take a moment now to get comfortable.
Let the body settle into bed,
Couch,
Or chair beneath you.
There is nothing more you need to do tonight.
Nowhere else to be.
Nothing to solve right now.
Just this breath.
Just this moment.
If it feels comfortable,
Allow the eyes to close.
Close.
Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And softly exhale.
Again,
Breathing in.
And letting go.
One more time.
Full inhale.
And exhale.
Easy exhale.
Let the jaw soften.
Let the tongue rest.
Let the shoulders drop.
Let the hands grow heavy.
Let the body know you can rest now.
Now bring awareness to the weight of the body being held.
You do not need to hold yourself up in this moment.
The bed or the chair is holding you.
The ground beneath it is holding you.
And life right now is holding you for a little while.
Take another slow breath in.
And exhale fully.
With each breath out,
Allow yourself to arrive more completely here.
Now imagine traveling inward.
Quietly,
Gently into the body.
As the outer world grows softer,
The inner world becomes clearer.
You are entering a world of quiet intelligence.
A body that knows how to restore itself.
A body that has been working for you all day.
And now it begins its night work.
Imagine millions of cells throughout the body.
Tiny living worlds.
Each one carrying wisdom older than thought.
Each one knowing what to repair.
What to release.
What to rebuild.
And what to restore.
You do not need to direct them.
They already know.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine the body receiving permission to begin.
Now picture each cell softly glowing.
Not bright,
Not sharp.
But a gentle light.
Like lanterns appearing across a quiet landscape at dusk.
One by one.
Lighting the body.
Steady.
Calm.
Alive.
Repair beginning.
Energy renewing.
Balance returning.
Now bring awareness to the brain.
All day it has processed thoughts.
Decisions.
Emotions.
Sounds.
Screens.
Conversations.
Memories.
So much movement.
Tonight,
Imagine the brain preparing for rest.
Sorting through the day.
Filing away what has been lived.
Keeping what is useful.
And releasing what is no longer needed.
Making space for quiet.
The mind does not need to keep working now.
It can rest.
Now bring awareness to the heart.
Steady and rhythmic.
Beating through every waking moment.
Tonight it continues quietly.
Wise and dependable.
Imagine warmth surrounding the heart.
Gratitude around this steady center.
No need to ask more of it right now.
Just thank it.
Now bring awareness to the belly.
This place that digests not only food,
But often stress,
Emotion,
And the pace of life.
Tonight,
Let the belly soften.
It does not need to hold today anymore.
Let go of judgments about this body.
It has been protecting you,
Nourishing you,
And carrying so much for you.
Take a slow breath in.
And a breath into the belly.
Exhale the tension.
And again.
Breathing softness in.
And releasing it out.
Now imagine the whole nervous system settling.
Signal slowing.
Noise quieting.
The body shifting out of doing and into healing.
Out of guarding and into trust.
Shifting out of effort and into rest.
Take a breath in.
Silently saying,
I am safe now.
Exhale.
I will rest now.
Again,
Inhale.
I am safe now.
And exhale.
I will restore now.
Now picture every cell receiving what it needs tonight.
Water moving where it is needed.
Repair reaching tired places.
Warmth and softness moving into guarded places.
Calm moving into overstimulated places.
Light touching forgotten places.
Nothing forced.
Nothing rushed.
The body works beautifully in stillness.
If any area of the body is asking for attention tonight.
Imagine placing a warm hand there.
You do not need to fix it right now in this moment.
Just offer presence.
Sometimes healing begins there.
Now imagine the whole body wrapped in quiet support.
The skin soft.
The breath easy.
Muscles unwinding.
The mind becoming spacious.
You are allowed to rest deeply.
You are allowed to stop carrying the day.
You are allowed to receive sleep.
And if sleep comes.
Let it come naturally.
If wakefulness remains.
Let that be okay too.
The body still receives benefit from rest.
The body still knows what to do.
Nothing is wasted here.
Take one final breath in.
And a slow steady exhale.
From here there is nothing more to follow.
Only softness.
Only sleep when it is ready.
Thank you for joining me in the Inside the Body series.
May your body be supported through the night by the wisdom within you.
