So closing the eyes and just coming into stillness,
Giving yourself full commission and preparing for a deeper relaxation.
Noticing how the body responds when you give yourself full commission,
Getting yourself comfortable and preparing for sleep.
Take a moment and notice if you could be just a little bit more comfortable,
Become aware of the weight of the body,
Maybe the sensation of sinking in,
Settling into the surface beneath,
The head resting.
And taking the relaxation deeper by scanning through the body and as we scan,
The invitation is to,
Let's begin by starting at the top of the head and gently scanning down,
Down through the scalp,
Sense of loosening of the scalp,
Then into the brow and the forehead,
Becoming more smooth,
The eyes and eyelids heavy,
The eyeballs simply resting in the sockets,
The cheeks,
The ears and the earlobes,
Feeling the sensations of the breath and the effortless rhythm and scanning down through the chin,
The jaw,
Loosening,
Into the throat and the neck,
The shoulders,
Noticing the shoulders softening as you breathe out,
Perhaps even the body,
Feeling here,
With every out breath,
Continuing to scan through the arms,
The elbows,
Fingers,
Thumb,
All the way through to the fingertips,
Moving back up to the top of the chest,
Scanning down through the torso,
The chest and the upper back,
Noticing the rise and fall,
Continuing down into the hips and pelvis,
The upper thighs and into the heel,
The sole of the foot,
Each of the toes and the big toe,
Now an open awareness of the whole body,
Simply resting,
Into a perfect state.
