Your body is a highly intelligent,
Finely tuned masterpiece.
It's the vehicle you use to navigate this world and this lifetime.
In this meditation,
We'll get to know this wondrous body and thank it for all it does.
We'll begin with the feet and steadily ascend towards the crown of our heads.
Let the body be in a position of least tension.
Sitting,
Lying down,
Or any other position you wish.
Allow yourself to relax as much as possible.
And take a few full and easy breaths.
Let's start by guiding your attention to your toes.
Feel your attention moving into your toes.
Wiggle your toes.
As you do this.
Even more tension is being released.
Tension is flowing out of the toes.
And continue to relax.
Now attention is moving into your feet.
Both feet are relaxing.
Feel the small muscles of the feet losing their tension.
Send a mental thank you to your feet.
Feet that have been supporting you.
Taking you where you wish to go.
As the feet continue to relax.
Now move your attention up to the lower legs and calves.
Your calves are relaxing.
Almost melting away.
The relaxation continues to extend up to your knees.
The intersection of the upper and lower legs.
Send a thank you to your knees.
Feel the gratitude welling in your knees as they open.
Relax.
And lose all tension.
Now the relaxation moves up into the thighs.
The largest muscles of the legs.
Feel these powerful muscles begin to relax.
Continue to breathe fully.
And easily.
As the thighs relax.
Move your attention up to your pelvis.
The pelvis connects the spine and the hips.
It integrates the upper and lower body.
And in that sense,
It's the body's center of balance.
Both physical and spiritual.
In the yogic tradition,
The pelvis houses a person's latent energy.
Feel your pelvis start to relax and open.
Breathe into the pelvis as it relaxes.
Because it's a major power center of the body.
Relaxing the pelvis can bring up strong emotions.
Allow these emotions to flow out of you.
Send a mental thank you to the pelvis for serving its role as an integrator.
The pelvis connects to the spine through the sacrum.
Which derives its name from the word sacred.
The spiritual energy in the pelvis is transmitted along the sacrum and up the spine.
The spine is the central antenna of the human being.
It houses the spinal cord.
The electric superhighway connecting the brain with the entire body.
Bring your attention to the spine.
Allow your attention to gently and steadily sweep up and down along the course of the full spine.
From just below the sacrum.
All the way to the head.
Each sweep is a nourishing thank you.
That spreads out from the spine throughout the entire body.
Feel this thank you.
This gratitude.
Sweeping like a soft breeze all the way up the spine.
And then all the way down.
All the way up.
And back down.
Your entire body is relaxing.
Almost floating.
Sweep up the spine once more.
And as your attention sweeps back down.
Allow it to exit the spine.
And enter the abdomen.
Fill the abdomen and lower back with your attention and gratitude.
There are so many judgments about the abdomen in our society.
In this moment.
We're releasing them all.
Together.
Express your gratitude for your abdomen and the many organs it houses.
And allow the relaxation to spread up to the chest and upper back.
Feel the chest expand,
Open,
And relax.
All tension falls away.
Love emerges.
Body is light and full.
Send a silent thank you to your chest and upper back.
Now see that your attention is flowing into both arms.
Relaxing them completely.
First the shoulders.
Then the upper arms.
Then the elbows.
Now the forearms.
Wrists.
In the hands.
And finally.
.
.
All 10 fingers.
Your arms are relaxed,
Loose,
Flowing.
Send a gentle thank you to your arms for all they have held close.
Carried.
Protected and created.
And now the relaxation spreads to the neck.
Which transmits our breath and our voice.
Feel the neck relax.
Allowing your voice to be heard.
Allowing your breath to flow fully.
Send a thank you to the neck.
The relaxation continues to spread.
Now reaching the head.
The facial muscles are relaxing.
The forehead is relaxing.
The jaw muscles are relaxing.
The head starts to feel spacious,
Open,
Light.
Your entire body is now in flow from the feet,
To the legs,
To the pelvis,
To the abdomen.
Back.
Chest.
Arms.
Mac?
Head.
Feel your bright,
Loving intelligence coursing through you as one big,
Life-giving light.
Thank you.
Take a moment now to rest in stillness and silence as you continue to breathe in this gratitude.
Now,
Take one last deep breath to breathe in this fullness.
Your spine is enlivened.
Your body is enlivened.
You are connected within and without.
When you're ready.
You can now open your eyes.
Namaste.
