Welcome.
Today's inspiration is on the Ayurvedic principle of balancing the opposites.
In Ayurveda,
It is said that like increases like.
And that opposite qualities balance each other.
We can witness this principle within us and all around us.
Through the seasons,
You naturally apply this principle.
When the weather is cold and dry,
You can nurture yourself by getting cozy and warm.
Making time for quiet reflection.
And listening to music that soothes you.
When the weather is warm.
A cooling breath technique can help.
When the weather is windy.
Employ lots of layers.
Within you if you're feeling overstimulated.
Finding space for quiet can help.
If you're feeling sluggish.
Engaging in energizing movement or breathwork will perk you up.
Let's settle in.
Find a comfortable seat.
Gently close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths.
Notice any tension in the body.
And with each breath out.
Allow it to soften.
Allowing space for the body and mind.
To settle in.
When we speak of balance,
It's helpful to remember that balance is not static.
It's a constant give and take.
Finding what is needed in the present to live in dynamic alignment.
What supports and nourishes us in a particular season or stage of life?
Maybe completely different at another time.
This state of balance means that we are resilient and flexible in adapting to changes.
Just as the sun and moon rise and set each day.
As nature shifts to find a new rhythm in the seasons.
We can adjust our daily habits and lifestyle to suit our needs.
We can tune into what we need.
In our food.
Movement.
Breathwork.
Meditation Now we'll practice Samavritti,
Equal or balancing breathing,
Where we breathe in and out through the nose for a count of four on both the inhale and the exhale.
Breathe in.
1.
Breathe out for a count of four.
One.
2.
Breathe in.
1.
2.
Breathe out.
1.
Breathe in,
One.
2.
4.
Breathe out.
1.
Breathe in,
One.
2.
4.
Breathe out.
1.
Breathe in,
One.
2.
4.
Breathe out.
One.
2.
Continue to breathe here,
Finding a steady,
Even breath.
Observing the rhythm of the breath.
Allowing it to restore dynamic balance.
Now,
Breathing normally,
Begin silently repeating the Sanskrit mantra that attunes your awareness to the natural rhythms of the cosmos.
Aum Bhavam Namah Aum Bhavam Namah OM BHAVAM NAMAH repeating the mantra gently without forcing.
Om Bhavam Namah.
OM BHAVAM NAMAH Aum Bhavam Namah Allow the vibration of the mantra to radiate through mind,
Body,
And spirit.
OM BHAVAM NAMAH Aum Bhavam Namah Aum Bhavam Namah Continue repeating the mantra,
Connecting the dynamic alignment within you.
With the rhythms of the cosmos.
I'll watch the time.
Still with your eyes closed.
Release the repetition of the mantra.
Take a deep breath in and out.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Today,
Consider how you can integrate the principle of balancing the opposites in your daily routines and habits to find support and nourishment.
Through seasonal and life transitions.
Namaste.
