Enneagram type twos are warm,
Generous,
And relationally attentive.
They often focus their energy on caring for others,
Sometimes in ways that obscure their own needs or boundaries.
Twos long to feel loved and appreciated,
And may give in order to receive love in return.
At their best,
They embody compassion,
Selfless love,
And emotional generosity that flows from a grounded sense of worth.
There are three subtypes of type two,
Self-preservation,
Social,
And one-to-one.
You are invited to explore your subtype for a fuller understanding of your own growth path.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Begin by letting your body arrive.
You don't need to do anything right now.
You don't need to care for anyone else in this moment.
You are allowed to rest.
Find a position that allows for ease.
Whatever ease means to you.
See if you can get yourself a little more comfortable.
And if it feels right,
You might close your eyes or soften your gaze.
And take a deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
Let your body know that it is safe to pause.
It is safe to receive.
Hear now these words from the prophet Isaiah.
Do not fear,
For I have redeemed you.
I have called you by name and you are mine.
Let that sink in slowly.
You are called by name.
Not by your role.
Not by your usefulness.
Not by what you offer to others.
But by your name.
Your whole true self.
You do not have to earn your place here.
You belong already.
You are God's beloved.
There is nothing more to prove.
Just this.
To receive the love that already holds you.
As a type 2,
You are gifted with the ability to sense the needs of others.
To show up with presence and compassion.
You lead with your heart.
You offer support before it is even asked.
This is beautiful.
And it can sometimes come at a cost.
You may begin to feel invisible unless you are needed.
You may begin to offer so much to others.
That you forget your own needs.
Your own boundaries.
Your own belovedness.
Beloved,
This is your invitation.
To receive what you so freely give.
To rest in love that is not earned.
To be without performing care for others.
You are not loved for what you do.
You are loved for who you are.
Let yourself soften into that truth.
Let these questions meet you wherever you are.
Where have I been overextending myself?
Hoping to be seen or appreciated?
What do I need today?
Emotionally?
Spiritually?
Physically?
Physically?
What would it feel like to receive care without having to give it first?
Let your breath hold what arises.
You do not need to fix or figure out anything.
Just notice.
And now we return to the body.
In your body,
Where do you feel full or empty?
Where are you holding fatigue or longing?
Gently move to your heart center.
What emotions are present on the surface or underneath?
Let them be named gently without judgment.
And now your headspace.
What thoughts are repeating?
What stories are you telling yourself about your worth?
Breathe gently into all three centers.
Let them integrate.
Let them be enough just as they are.
Take a final breath.
Inhale compassion for yourself.
And exhale the pressure to earn your belonging.
Beloved,
May you remember.
You are not required to meet everyone's needs.
You are not forgotten when you rest.
You are not loved because of what you do.
You are loved because of who you are.
As you move through your day.
May you return to this pause.
This place where your presence is enough.
Where your worth is unshakable.
Where God is already with you.
Inviting you to receive the love that holds you always.
Amen.
