Welcome to this meditation which is designed to help you to reconnect with your own inner strength and to find healing from burnout as we draw on the ancient wisdom of Celtic spirituality.
In this meditation I will guide you through the elements of earth,
Air,
Fire and water inviting balance,
Renewal and peace to your weary spirit.
Begin by finding a comfortable way to be,
Either sitting or lying down.
Gently close the eyes and take a deep breath in,
Feeling the air fill your lungs.
As you exhale,
Release the stress and tension that's in the body just right now.
Allow yourself to settle into this moment,
And feeling your body soften,
Relax and let go and your mind too beginning to quiet.
Imagine yourself standing in a lush green forest.
Surrounded by ancient trees.
The earth beneath you is solid and rich,
Full of life and energy.
In Celtic spirituality,
The earth is a source of strength,
Stability and grounding.
As you breathe in now,
Feel the nurturing energy of the earth rising up through your feet,
Filling your body with a sense of stability and support.
With every exhale,
Release the heavy burdens you've been carrying,
Letting them flow down into the earth to be transformed.
Silently affirm,
I am grounded.
I am supported by the strength of the earth.
I am grounded.
I am supported by the strength of the earth.
Spend a few moments now,
Absorbing this grounding energy,
Allowing it to anchor you in the present moment,
Bringing you right now a sense of peace and stability.
Now,
Bring your awareness to the element of air.
Picture yourself on a hilltop,
Where a gentle breeze blows,
Carrying the fresh,
Clean scent of the open sky.
Air in the Celtic tradition symbolises clarity,
Inspiration and the breath of life.
With every inhale now,
Draw in the fresh,
Healing air.
Feel it clear your mind and refresh your spirit.
As you exhale,
Let go of the mental exhaustion and the overwhelm.
Allowing these now to be carried away by the wind.
Silently affirm,
I am clear.
I am refreshed by the breath of life.
I am clear.
I am refreshed by the breath of life.
Allow yourself to be fully present now.
In this moment,
Breathing in the clarity and lightness of the air,
Feeling your mind become calm and renewed.
Turn inward to the element of fire.
Imagine a warm,
Glowing fire within you,
A source of energy,
Passion and transformation.
In Celtic spirituality,
Fire represents the energy of fire.
The inner spark that fuels our creativity and drive.
So as you breathe in now,
Feel the warmth of this inner fire,
Reigniting your passion and energy.
With each exhale,
Release any sense of burnout,
Fatigue,
Exhaustion.
Letting them be transformed by the flames.
Silently affirm,
I am renewed.
I am energised by the fire within.
Spend a few moments now,
Spend a few moments now,
Feeling this warmth spread throughout your body,
Rekindling your inner strength and vitality.
Finally,
Connect with the element of water.
Picture a serene,
Flowing river under the light of the moon,
Its waters cool and soothing.
Water in Celtic spirituality is the source of healing,
Is the source of healing,
Renewal and emotional balance.
As you inhale,
Feel the calming energy of the water flowing through you,
Washing away now any remaining tension and emotional exhaustion.
With every exhale,
Release any emotional burdens,
Letting them be carried away by the gentle current.
Finally,
Silently affirm,
I am calm.
I am healed by the soothing waters.
I am calm.
I am healed by the soothing waters.
Allow yourself now to be fully immersed in this feeling of peace and renewal.
Letting the healing waters restore your emotional balance and inner calm.
As this meditation draws to a close,
Take a moment to feel the balance of all four elements within you.
Earth grounding you,
Air clearing your mind,
Fire reigniting your body,
Fire reigniting your spirit,
And water soothing your emotions.
You are renewed,
Connected to the ancient energies that sustain and heal.
Rest now,
As the soothing chant Siacháan D'íoghíth,
The peace of God,
Of source,
Be with you.
Place connects with you,
Seeps into you.
