In this gentle 6-minute practice, you’ll awaken the body with three-part breathing and finish with a soothing physiological sigh to clear the mind and energise your system. This is your daily moment to arrive, reset, and meet the day from a grounded and centred place. Welcome to this morning energizer,

Over the next few minutes we'll use the breath to awaken your body,

Focus your mind and boost your energy for the day ahead.

Find a comfortable seated position,

Let your feet be grounded,

Your spine tall,

Shoulders relaxed,

Rest your hands in your lap,

Soften your gaze or close your eyes if that feels comfortable.

Take a moment to simply notice your breath,

No need to change it yet,

Just feel it moving in and out.

Now begin to deepen your inhale,

Feeling first the belly,

Then the ribs,

Then the chest and exhale fully letting the air flow out.

Let's take a few rounds together,

Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest and exhale chest,

Ribs,

Belly and again,

Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

Exhale chest,

Ribs and belly.

So just continue at your own pace for a few more breaths,

Feeling your lungs open and your body waking up,

Do one more.

Now we're going to add a gentle pause at the top,

If you're ready,

Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

Hold for 2,

1 and exhale slowly,

Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

Hold for 2,

1 and exhale slowly and let go of that technique,

Just allow your breath to regulate,

Come back to its normal rhythm.

So now for the next 2 minutes we're going to try an energising sniff breath,

This is 2 short,

Sharp inhales through the nose,

Followed by a slow,

Steady exhale,

It sounds like this,

Exhale,

Try it now,

Sniff,

Sniff and exhale,

So just keep going,

Letting each double inhale lift your energy and each exhale steady your mind,

So it's an inhale,

Inhale and a steady exhale,

Keep going and when you get to the next exhale you can release the technique,

Just return to your natural breath,

Just notice how you feel,

Awake,

Focused,

Ready to step into your day,

So take one final deep inhale through your nose and sigh out through the mouth and open your eyes,

If you enjoyed this practice try starting your mornings with it for the next week and notice how your energy shifts and your focus grows one breath at a time.
