9 Days Of Breakthrough And Answered Prayers Day 3
by Nikki Walton
A Novena is a Christian tradition of praying for nine consecutive days or weeks in order to fulfill a specific intention or petition. The word “novena” comes from the Latin word novem, which means “nine”. The Surrender Novena was given to the servant of God, Father Dolindo Ruotolo in the early 1900s, for you to pray NOW. People have received countless graces, blessings, and timely miracles, both spiritual and material. Welcome to our 9-Day Prayer Challenge. This is Day 3.
Transcript
Good morning.
God morning to you.
Precampton says it's our souls that are tired,
Not our bodies.
We need nature.
We need magic.
We need adventure.
We need truth.
We need stillness.
We need to wake up and live.
You need to wake up to love.
Close that body's eyes and wake up.
To what's always here to fill.
You forget so often but you're remembering more and more now,
Aren't you?
It's getting easier and easier to access,
Isn't it?
You don't even have to try to fill it.
When you let go of the trying,
It's there.
Like Jonathan Rumi,
The star of The Chosen,
The Jesus of The Chosen says,
Once you let go of the reins and just put your trust in the divine,
In God,
He will change your entire life the way he did mine.
As soon as you stop trying to fill God,
You fill.
In this moment,
Stop trying to do anything.
Stop trying to sit up taller or to listen better.
Stop trying to turn within.
Don't do anything.
Do nothing.
See?
That's why it's called the still,
Small voice.
You barely notice it but when you stop,
It's there.
Like the gentle hum of the air conditioner or of the refrigerator.
Sounds that go unnoticed as presence goes unnoticed.
By the world but not by you.
Rumi says the light you give off did not come from a pelvis.
Your features did not begin in semen.
Don't try to hide inside anger radiance that cannot be hidden.
You have to forgive.
Mother Teresa says people are often unreasonable,
Illogical,
And self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
People may accuse you of selfish,
Ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
You will win some false friends and some true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you.
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight.
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see in the final analysis,
It's between you and your god.
It was never between you and them anyway.
Be saying you can trust me.
I haven't brought you to where you are now to leave you.
Do you trust me?
Then relax enough to fill me.
Show me.
Relax into that work today.
Do it relaxed,
Meaning do it aware.
Do it in silence,
Inside.
You still speak outside,
But you take my silence,
My vigil inside.
And whenever you feel yourself grasping for words,
Hear,
Jesus you take care of it.
Instead of how am I going to take care of it,
This is too much,
I'm too tired,
I want to go home.
Jesus you take care of it and be still again.
Rock right now side to side and notice that you can be still at the same time.
There's a stillness still present even in motion.
When you're up walking later,
Notice that there's a stillness that isn't walking,
That isn't moving,
That never has moved.
You be that.
That's what I am.
You be with me.
We watch.
We work from here.
I'm speaking but I'm not speaking.
I'm aware of speaking happening.
The night before I think I know what's going to be said,
But when I sit down at this microphone and I begin,
Nothing comes,
Nothing good comes,
And then I stop.
And sometimes I need the words Jesus you take over.
Sometimes I say it over and over rhythmically.
It sounds like Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over,
Jesus you take over.
And it's like I get,
The rhythm gets me and then his words come.
And the words that I thought would come never come.
After the recording is over I'm like oh I forgot to say and I remember.
That's ego.
That's a thought.
I didn't forget anything.
I doesn't forget.
When you are being the I,
You never stop feeling love because you're being it.
You can't not be yourself.
You can't practice your way into being this.
Muji would say that Abraham Hicks would say that.
You wake up as this.
I say that.
Wake up to love.
Wake up into prayer.
I hope that's what you did today.
That that's what you're doing now.
Charles Spurgeon says prayer is the natural outgushing of a soul in communion with Jesus.
Just as the leaf and the fruit will come out of the vine branch without any conscious effort on the part of the branch,
But simply because of its living union with the stem.
So prayer buds and blossoms and fruits out of souls abiding in Jesus.
Let us pray.
These are his words to your soul.
How many things I do when the soul and so much spiritual and material need turns to me,
Looks at me,
And says to me you take care of it,
And closes its eyes and rests.
In pain you pray for me to act,
But that I act in the way you want.
You do not turn to me.
Instead you want me to adopt your ideas.
You're not sick people who ask the doctor to cure you,
But rather sick people who tell the doctor how to.
So do not act this way,
But pray as I taught you in the Our Father.
Hallowed be thy name,
That is be glorified in my need.
Thy kingdom come,
That is let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with your kingdom.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,
That is in our need decide as you see fit for our temporal and eternal life.
If you say to me truly,
Thy will be done,
Which is the same as saying you take care of it,
I will intervene with all my omnipotence and I will resolve the most difficult situations.
And now we pray 10 times into the silence,
Into the love,
Into our heart.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Loving the silence.
Between the repetitions,
The silence is his response.
It's his hearing and it is his answer.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
Oh Jesus,
I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.
And now our concluding prayer.
Mother,
I am yours now and forever.
Through you and with you,
I always want to belong completely to Jesus.
Amen.
There are times when the burden of need and our limitations might tempt us to become discouraged,
But precisely then we are helped by the knowledge that in the end,
We are only instruments in the Lord's hands.
And this knowledge frees us from the presumption of thinking that we alone are personally responsible for building a better world.
In all humility,
We will do what we can.
And in all humility,
We will entrust the rest to the Lord.
It's God who governs the world,
Not we.
We offer him our service only to the extent that we can.
And for as long as he grants us the strength to do all we can with what strength we have,
However,
Is the task which keeps the good servant of Jesus always at work.
The love of Christ urges us on.
At 2 Corinthians 5 14,
From Pope Benedict the 15th,
Someone wrote me the other day.
She says,
I've been on my spiritual journey for many years.
I haven't emailed you in a while,
But still listen to and love the podcast.
I feel a deep connection to your teachings.
You've helped me navigate what felt like a daunting task.
I felt lost for so long.
I grew up Baptist and the God of fear and anger never felt aligned to my spirit.
I then went on a search for what felt true.
I've tried chanting Hindu names of God,
Buddhist meditations,
Etc.
But nothing brings tears to my eyes and an overwhelming connection to the presence of God like Jesus and now Mother Mary.
And she goes on to share about how she's done the novenas and they've been powerful.
And she's doing this one with us too.
But I wanted to say the same.
This love is one.
This love urges us on.
I've connected with this love using the name Ram.
I've connected with it using the name Krishna,
Hare Krishna,
Hare Ram.
I've connected with it using the name Hanumanji.
I've connected with it using the mantra La Ilaha Illa La.
I've read Aramaic scriptures.
I've called Jesus by his Aramaic name,
By his Hebrew name.
It's not the names.
Even the name in Aramaic in Jesus's language meant atmosphere,
Breath,
Spirit.
We worship in spirit.
You can call it what you want.
I call it Jesus.
I call it Christ.
I call it love still.
Only love is here.
But when I say only Jesus is here,
There's a dimension of feeling that wasn't felt.
It feels more personal.
It makes me take things less personal.
It makes me more humble.
I live in a posture of bowing,
Of worshiping everything,
Of seeing him everywhere.
Richard Rohr says the degree to which you can see the divine image where you'd rather not tells me how fully the divine image is now operative in you.
One practice is not better than the other.
One prayer is not better than another.
One religion is not better than another.
Love is love and it does not belong to any one religion.
This body goes into a Catholic church daily.
It serves as often as it can.
It receives the Eucharist,
Communion,
The body of Christ.
But the spirit,
This awareness that's here,
The church is in it.
The temples,
The ashrams,
They're all in here.
I can't fit in them.
Nikki goes to them.
She likes to visit them,
But I can't fit in any box.
I am love and you are that.
And every time you remember that,
All the saints salute you.
And the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit is with you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
And you are on your path.
I say you know you're on your path when it disappears.
Things are about to get really good,
Better than they've ever been because you have something that you've never had consistently.
You're doing something that you've never done before consistently.
Change is here.
We'll chat soon.
