Welcome to this guided meditation.
Brought to you by Create The Calm Take this moment as an invitation to arrive.
Arrive exactly as you are.
There's nothing you need to solve before you begin.
Nothing you need to understand.
Nothing you need to figure out.
For these next few moments,
You're simply invited to be here.
Allow your body to settle.
Allow your breath to find its natural rhythm.
Allow yourself to feel the support beneath you.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
And release.
Again.
Breathing in.
.
.
And breathing out.
As you settle into this moment.
I invite you to notice where you've been investing your energy during this season of change.
When I use the word energy in this meditation.
I'm referring to the investment of your inner resources.
The attention.
Focus.
Emotional effort.
And presence.
You bring into each moment.
In the middle of change.
Our energy can become scattered.
The landscape around us is changing.
We may be changing too.
And the inner resources we've used to navigate our lives naturally reach for familiar paths.
We may find ourselves investing energy and worrying about the future.
Trying to figure out what comes next.
Trying to control what can't yet be controlled.
Or trying to hold on to who we were before the change began.
These responses are natural.
They're often the ways we've learned to seek safety,
Understanding,
And stability.
But sometimes the paths we've always followed no longer lead where we're going.
Today,
This is an invitation to gather those inner resources back to yourself.
To return your energy to this moment.
To return your presence to yourself.
To remember the steadiness that's carried you through every season of your life.
Now allow yourself to imagine that you are an ancient tree standing in the heart of an old forest.
Feel yourself rooted deeply into the earth.
Your roots extend far beneath the surface.
Reaching into the soil that has held you for generations.
They are deep and gnarled,
Strong and steady,
Gripping the earth like a hand.
Your roots anchor you through changing seasons and connect you to something older than any single moment.
Feel your trunk.
It's thick and strong.
Shaped by the many seasons you've lived through.
Your bark carries the marks of your journey,
The places where animals have rested against you,
Where storms have passed over you.
Where flood and drought have tested your strength.
These marks aren't signs that you have failed.
They're evidence that you have lived.
They are reminders of the seasons you have survived,
The storms you've endured.
And the life you've continued to carry.
Feel your branches reaching upward and outward.
Your canopy spreads across the sky.
Offering shade and shelter.
To the creatures who live below.
And within you.
Birds find rest among your branches.
Small creatures find safety near roots.
Life moves around you.
Through you.
And alongside you.
In this existence everything moves slowly.
You don't rush the seasons.
You don't ask bring to arrive before it's time.
You don't try to hold on to summer when autumn begins.
And you don't resist winter when it comes.
You live in the wisdom of cycles.
You know that everything that has a beginning is an end.
Will have an ending.
And you know that every ending carries within it the beginning of something new.
You have lived through countless seasons.
You have known the arrival of new life.
And you have known the release of what was complete.
You've known periods of growth and periods of stillness.
You've lifted your branches toward clear skies and dark skies,
Toward warm sunlight and gentle rain.
Towards storms and quiet mornings.
Every sky has met you where you were.
The Earth has held you.
And you have held your place upon the earth.
Notice how the ancient tree moves through change.
It doesn't spend autumn trying to hold on to the leaves of summer.
It doesn't spend winter longing for spring.
And it doesn't waste its strength fighting the season that's here.
Instead,
It gathers its energy inward.
It returns its resources to what sustains it.
Because scattered energy cannot nourish your roots.
Allow those words to settle within you.
Scattered energy.
Cannot nourish your roots.
Your roots need your presence.
Your roots need your attention.
Your roots need the inner resources that belong to you.
Now gently begin calling your energy back.
You may repeat these words silently or aloud.
I call my energy back from worrying about the future.
I call my energy back from trying to figure everything out.
I call my energy back from searching for answers that aren't ready to appear.
I call my energy back from trying to control the outcome.
I call my energy back from imagining every possible future.
I call my energy back from replaying the past.
I call my energy back from trying to return to who I was before this change began.
I call my energy back from holding on to a version of myself that no longer fits the life I'm living.
I call my energy back from every place where I abandon myself in the search for certainty.
I welcome my energy home.
I allow my energy to rest within me.
I allow my presence to return to this moment.
I allow myself to be here,
Now.
Imagine your energy returning to you like nourishment flowing back through the roots of this ancient tree.
Nothing is forced.
Nothing is chased.
Nothing is rushed.
You are simply returning to yourself.
Feel the strength of your roots.
Feel the steadiness of your trunk.
Feel your branches reaching toward whatever sky is present today.
You don't need the sky to be clear in order to be rooted.
And you don't need the season to be easy in order to belong to yourself.
Life will continue to change.
New seasons will arrive.
Old seasons will pass.
But beneath every season,
There's a part of you that remains connected to itself.
A part of you that has carried you through every beginning.
Every ending.
Every transformation.
And every unknown.
When you notice yourself becoming scattered,
Pause.
Return to your roots.
Return to yourself.
Remember this simple truth.
Scattered energy cannot nourish your roots.
And gather yourself gently.
Welcome yourself home.
And continue forward,
Knowing that you don't need to become someone new in order to meet this changing world.
You only need to remain connected to the deepest parts of yourself.
