I'm Colette.
Welcome to today's deep relaxation and restoration meditation.
This practice is a gentle way to soothe and calm your mind whilst easing your body into a state of deep relaxation,
Healing and repair.
All you need to do is sit or lie comfortably in a place where you will not be disturbed and just breathe,
Listen to the words and allow my voice to guide you.
Let's begin by slowing down the breath and taking some full deep breaths in and some long slow breaths out.
Perhaps try inhaling for a count of three or four and exhaling for a count of a five or six.
This gentle breathing rhythm signals the parasympathetic nervous system which triggers the body's natural healing and restoration response.
So let's take a deep full breath in and a long slow breath out.
That's right in and out.
In and out.
If it feels safe for you to do so,
I invite you to soften your gaze or gently close your eyes.
Now with each slow breath in imagine you're breathing in peace and love and with each long breath out imagine you are exhaling any tension,
Pain,
Discomfort or fear.
Continue breathing at your own comfortable pace and start to feel your body becoming a little softer and a little calmer.
Breathing in peace,
Breathing out and letting go.
Now I invite you to imagine that you're surrounded by a bubble of soft white light that is filled with loving healing energy.
Feel the light wrap you in a gentle veil of peace and serenity.
Imagine the light slowly entering in through the crown of your head and starting to spread across your scalp.
Visualize the light flowing through the forehead,
Circling around the eyes,
Across the temples,
Healing,
Nurturing and soothing you.
Now the light gently rolls across your cheeks into your nose and mouth and swirls around the chin,
Softening,
Soothing and relaxing your face and jaw.
The light continues to flow downward filling your throat and gently massaging and soothing your neck and shoulders.
As the light flows it lovingly dissolves and melts away any pain,
Stiffness or tension and the light helps you to feel a deep sense of comfort and relaxation.
Now the light travels into your upper arms and starts to swirl down around the elbows,
Gently nurturing and rejuvenating the muscles,
Tendons and joints as it flows.
The light continues to circulate down the forearms and deep into the wrists,
Healing and soothing the joints before flowing through to the palms and along the fingers,
Gently bringing a feeling of warmth,
Relaxation and healing to the hands.
Now the arms are bathed in light,
The healing energy moves back up to the chest and upper body.
Gently it massages the joints,
Releasing and nurturing every cell,
Tissue and muscle as it goes.
This luminous soothing light fills the heart,
The lungs and the ribcage,
Softly glowing it radiates peace,
Love and healing throughout your chest.
The light now travels down your mid-back and gently swirls around your abdomen,
Wrapping you in comfort,
Renewal and ease.
With every breath this healing light expands,
It fills your torso with warmth,
Love and gentle restoration.
The light continues its journey,
Flowing through the hips,
Gently releasing the lower back and down into your pelvic floor,
Soothing tightness,
Restoring balance and filling this sacred centre of your body with loving healing energy.
Now the light moves into your thighs,
Gently releasing any heaviness and dissolving any tension held deep in the muscles.
It swirls down to your knees and gently wraps around them,
Revitalising the joints,
Soothing discomfort and inviting flexibility and ease into every movement.
The loving light gently continues down into the shins and calves,
It starts to melt away any fatigue,
Pain or cramping,
To leave behind a sense of lightness and renewal.
It then moves through to the ankles,
Rejuvenating the joints,
Reducing swelling and promoting healing and effortless movement.
From the ankles the light sinks into the heels,
Settling into the arches and soles of your feet.
It fills every curve with warmth,
Vitality and healing.
As it moves into each toe,
The light glows brighter and gently restores and energises the feet.
Your entire body is now bathed in light and wrapped in a loving gentle healing embrace.
Now all stay silent for a minute,
Allowing you to rest fully immersed in this loving rejuvenating light,
So you can enjoy a moment of peace,
Healing and calm.
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you,
Maybe wiggle your fingers or take a nice big stretch.
Take a deep refreshing breath in and a slow long exhale out.
When you're ready,
Softly open your eyes and come back to the present moment.
