If the ocean can calm itself,

Then so can we.

Take a slow,

Gentle,

Deep breath in and then release it,

Letting go of any tension that you might be holding.

Feel your shoulders soften,

Your jaw relax,

Your body settle into comfort.

Breathe in again and as you exhale,

Allow all your breath to carry away anything that no longer serves you.

Each breath becomes an invitation,

A gentle calling into the present moment.

Now let your awareness rest on the natural rhythm of your breath.

There is nothing to force,

Nothing to control,

Only the gentle ebb and flow,

Like waves caressing the shore.

Each inhale drawing in peace,

Each exhale letting go of tension.

Allow your breath to find its balance.

With your next inhale,

Bring your awareness to the tip of your nose.

Follow the breath as it rises through your nostrils,

Up to the space between the eyebrows,

The third eye,

And as you exhale,

Follow the breath back down from the third eye through your nose until it leaves your body.

Continue this gentle pattern,

Balancing your breath like the tides of the ocean,

Steady,

Rhythmic,

Effortless.

Now begin to imagine yourself surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the ocean.

Above you,

An endless blue sky stretches across the horizon.

Below,

Soft white sand lies beneath the shimmering water,

Sunbeams piercing through the water's surface,

Casting gold streaks of light.

Tiny grains of sand drift lazily on the ocean's currents,

Shimmering in the sunlight like diamonds.

The sea cradles you,

Weightless,

Peaceful,

Infinite,

And as you float in this tranquil embrace,

Begin to imagine yourself as a strand of glistening green seaweed.

Your lower body feels heavy,

Rooted,

Deeply anchored into the soft,

Warm sands of the ocean floor.

Your roots extend deep into the earth,

Strong,

Steady,

Unwavering,

While the upper half of your body becomes light,

Buoyant,

Free.

Your spine,

Fluid and supple,

Moves effortlessly with the gentle currents,

Swaying,

Flowing,

Adapting to the push and pull of your ocean breath.

You are strong,

Yet soft,

Flexible,

Yet grounded.

You move effortlessly,

Yet unwavering.

The ocean is like life itself,

Ever-changing,

Vast and full of mystery.

At times its surface is calm and clear,

And others it's wild and stormy.

But beneath the waves,

The depths remain steady,

Just as your inner self can remain peaceful amid life's changes.

Like seaweed,

You are both deeply rooted and beautifully flexible,

Able to move with life's currents rather than resist them.

The tide will rise and it will fall.

Storms will come and they will pass.

Cloudy waters will clear again.

There is no need to struggle against the push and pull of life.

Like the ocean,

Life flows,

Shifting,

Evolving,

Changing direction.

When the waters become rough,

Remember this truth,

Every storm will pass.

When the tides shift,

Embrace the new direction.

When the waters grow still,

Sink into the peace that is always waiting beneath the surface.

Breathe with the ocean,

Feel its rhythm guiding you.

Inhaling,

Feel the gentle pull of the tide.

Exhaling,

Letting yourself be carried back into stillness.

Let your body gently sway in time to this natural movement,

Rocking,

Flowing,

Moving with the ocean's embrace.

Your breath is the ocean breath,

Deep,

Fast and powerful.

You are resilient.

You are adaptable.

You are free.

With each inhale,

Feel yourself merging with the rhythm of the sea.

Each exhale,

Soften even more into the embrace.

Inhaling,

Flowing with ease.

Exhaling,

Releasing resistance.

Let your breath become a whisper on the waves,

Rising and falling in harmony with the ocean's lullaby.

Let yourself go just a little bit more.

Inhaling,

Releasing,

Letting go so that you can simply be.

Remember you are not separate from the ocean.

You are the ocean.

Feel your seaweed body sway,

In time with the natural current of your breath.

Feel the cleansing waters caressing your seaweed skin.

Welcome the ocean's presence as it cradles you like your mother's embrace.

With this support,

Allow yourself to drift even deeper into your inner world.

A soothing wave of peace washes over you,

Dissolving any last remnants of tension.

You are water.

You are movement.

You are freedom.

Let the current explore you.

Let the sea carry away your worries.

Let yourself become one with the vast,

Endless ocean.

Feel yourself sinking into your deepest core,

Floating effortlessly in the stillness within.

At your center,

Bring your palms together at your front,

And begin to rub your hands together vigorously.

Feel the warmth build between the palms.

Once they're warm,

Gently place them over your closed eyes.

Let the heat soothe you,

Grounding you,

Bringing you back softly and slowly.

And when you're ready,

Keeping your palms in place,

Slowly open your eyes behind them,

Allowing them to adjust to the darkness and any shards of light that may creep in.

And when you're ready and there's no rush,

Lower your hands down gently,

And let your eyes return to the space around you.

Let them adjust to the light,

And as they do,

Savor any feelings of stillness,

Calm,

And peace.

These feelings are always here,

Waiting patiently for you wherever and whenever you need them.

I invite you now to carry this feeling of serenity with you into the rest of your day.

And the infinite light of peace within you.
