Starseed (A Poem)

This is a poem I wrote with the helpful prompts provided by my friend Carley, who is also a teacher here. (As: A Smile From Heaven) This was written immediately after I heard the news of my Uncle transitioning. This helped me process some of the confusion, pain, and abandonment I had felt. Starseed She is a starseed from beyond time. Even though she is now an earthbound warrior, She focuses on her strengths. Her gold eyes shine with a fierceness reflecting her resilience and power. She is infinite. She is like the wind, Sometimes soft as a summer breeze, Other times harsh and unforgiving like a cyclone. What if she could reframe that harshness and learn to forgive? I mean to start as a soft gale, But the interconnectedness of everything takes over and I get overwhelmed by it all. After she breaks free from the chains, She will find balance between all her weather cycles. From the whisper and shivers of gently swirling wind to the big rumbling booms of thunder. Lightning dances across the sky, Signaling she is freed.
