Join me for this meditation if your mind feels busy,
Repetitive or hard to quiet.
If your thoughts keep looping or show up uninvited,
This is a space to slow everything down.
Not by fighting your mind,
But by changing how you stand within it.
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable,
Or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in,
And a longer breath out.
The mind produces thoughts the way the lungs produce breath.
It's what it does.
Sometimes those thoughts feel neutral,
Sometimes they feel loud,
Sticky or intrusive.
But thoughts are movements of energy.
Not commands,
Not facts,
Just movements.
Right now,
We're not trying to stop them.
We are creating distance,
And distance creates calm.
Bring your awareness down into your body.
Feel your feet touching the ground.
Feel the weight of your hips.
Feel the slow rise of your breath.
When thoughts feel overwhelming,
It's often because awareness has moved fully into your head.
So,
We gently guide it downward.
Imagine your attention flowing like warm water,
From your forehead,
Down your neck,
Into your chest.
Let it settle there.
Breathing.
If a thought appears,
Notice it,
And then label it gently as thinking,
And return to the breath.
No story.
No analysis.
Just recognition,
And return to breath.
Imagine your mind as the surface of the ocean.
Waves rise quickly.
Some are small,
Some are loud and forceful.
Intrusive thoughts are simply higher waves.
But below the surface,
The water is calm,
Deep,
And still.
The waves can continue.
You don't need to stop them.
You just don't need to write every single one.
Take a slower breath in,
And a longer breath out.
Let the exhale feel like a tide pulling gently.
Notice the small spaces between thoughts.
Even one second of space is enough.
That space is where calm lives.
Rest there with me.
Thoughts may continue.
That's okay.
But you are learning something powerful.
You are not inside the thought.
The thought appears inside you.
And you are wider than it.
Deeper than it.
Steadier than it.
Take one final breath in.
Slow exhale.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Carry this knowing with you.
The mind can move,
And you can remain still.
