Hi Frankie here,
My soul thanks your soul for joining today.
Releasing the monkey mind and bringing in stillness.
I was planning to call this releasing my monkey mind,
As I am definitely not immune to the endless chatter of a restless mind,
So let's together see if we can find a place of calm and stillness within.
Just let yourself settle in knowing that this is a space for peace and relaxation.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly release it through your mouth.
Feel your body begin to relax as you let the breath flow naturally.
Let your shoulders drop,
Your jaw loosen,
Your hands rest gently on your lap or by your side.
Breathing gentle breaths,
Hands becoming more and more relaxed.
Bringing your awareness just to the rhythm of your breath.
Just notice the natural rise and fall of your chest,
The gentle expansion and release of your belly.
Simply observe your breath,
There's no need to change it,
No need to control it,
Just noticing.
As you notice the breath you may begin to notice thoughts appearing,
The chatter of the mind,
Thoughts about the past,
Worries about the future,
Your to-do list for today or tomorrow.
This is the monkey mind,
Always jumping from one thought to another,
Seeking stimulation,
Seeking distraction.
But you are not your thoughts,
You are simply the observer of your thoughts,
The one watching the thoughts without becoming them.
When a thought arises,
Imagine it as a cloud drifting across the sky.
Notice it,
Acknowledge it and then it floats away,
No need to follow it,
No need to resist it,
Just letting the clouds drift by.
If you feel pulled into a thought,
That's okay,
Simply notice it and gently guide your attention back to your breath.
Breathing in,
Calm,
Breathing out,
Letting go,
Your mind as still as a pond.
With each breath the surface of the pond becomes smoother,
Calmer,
Until it reflects only peace,
A quiet gap where stillness resides.
Rest in that space,
If a thought comes,
Simply let it pass,
Like a leaf floating down a stream,
Letting out stillness.
Feel yourself settling deeper into this quiet inner space,
You don't need to chase stillness,
It's already within you.
To just be in this calm stillness,
Observing your breath,
Notice how the stillness begins to expand.
Feeling the stillness now,
Feeling it in your body,
In your heart,
In your relaxed mind.
This stillness is always here,
It's beneath the noise,
Beneath the thoughts,
Your breath Breathing in calm,
Breathing out stillness,
Slowly bringing your awareness back to the around you,
Noticing the weight of your body,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Rolling your shoulders,
Feeling present and grounded.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
You are calm,
You are still,
You are at peace.
Give yourself a hug,
And give yourself some gratitude for allowing this moment of stillness in your day.
Blessings to you,
Namaste.
