Hello,
Hello.
Welcome to Hayahein.
You are here today to honor the vessels that connect you most directly to life itself.
Your nose carries breath,
The bridge between your inner world and the world around you.
It connects you to scent,
Memory,
Instinct and the present moment.
While your mouth carries nourishment,
Expression,
Truth and care.
It speaks your needs,
Your boundaries,
Your creativity and your love.
Together,
These vessels work constantly.
You breathe without noticing,
You eat without pausing,
You speak quickly or hold back words that long to be expressed.
This Hayahein practice invites you to slow down,
To receive breath more fully,
To soften how you nourish yourself,
To become aware of how you express your truth.
As you begin this meditation,
Allow each inhale and exhale to remind you,
You are alive,
You are supported,
You are enough.
Find a comfortable position.
Sit upright,
But relaxed.
Shoulders soft,
Hands resting in your lap or on your knees.
Take a moment to adjust your clothing so that you feel as comfortable as possible.
This is your sacred time,
A space to release,
To rest,
To honor your being and to care for the gift of life.
The breath is a gift of life.
Each inhale reminds you that you are alive.
Each exhale invites you to let go.
We'll begin with three deep breaths.
Take a deep breath in and release,
Letting go of tension.
Take another deep breath in.
As you breathe out,
Imagine setting aside all to-do's,
Worries,
And plans.
One more deep breath in.
And release,
Giving yourself full permission to be present.
Now notice your feet on the ground,
Rooted.
Your sitting bones are supported by the mat.
Your spine tall and relaxed,
Shoulders soft.
Feel your breath moving through your belly,
Chest,
And body.
Inhale,
Receive.
Exhale,
Release.
Take another deep breath in and release,
Letting go of tension with your breath.
Now bring your awareness back to the center of your being.
Notice your natural breath.
Notice the inhale and the exhale.
Imagine each inhale as a wave of calm entering.
Each exhale as a gentle release,
Letting go of what you don't need.
When a thought arises,
Congratulate yourself for noticing.
That awareness is a gift.
Then let the thought drift away with your exhale,
Like a leaf on a stream.
Notice the quiet pause at the top of the inhale.
And again at the bottom of the exhale.
Rest in these spaces.
Now expand awareness beyond the breath.
Sense your whole body breathing.
Include the space around you,
The air,
The sounds,
The stillness.
Rest here,
Aware of body and space.
We are about to start the chanting of Hayahay.
We will start with Ha.
Please chant with me.
Breathe in and let's chant Ha three times.
Now visualize yourself in front of you.
A version of yourself bright,
Light,
And smiling.
This is your soul that reminds you that you've never been alone.
Your soul is now embracing you.
Feel the warmth of this embrace,
Or perhaps a gentle breeze.
This is your connection to your essence.
Let us now chant Ya three times.
Now bring to mind someone you deeply love.
Picture their face and feel the warmth within your chest as this love radiates outward.
See light pouring down from the sky,
Filling your heart and creating a connection with the source.
This is your connection to light.
This is your coherence to your ancestors.
Let us now chant Hai three times.
Please chant with me.
Now visualize that light beginning to expand from your heart,
Enveloping your entire body.
Visualize it going out several inches,
Filling your entire natural energy field.
It goes outwards from your body several inches,
Filling your room,
Going outwards your house.
You might even see yourself taller and bigger.
Feel your natural energy field.
This is your light.
This is your natural energy field.
This is you,
Alive and vibrant.
Allow yourself to soak in this sensation.
As I will now leave you for a few moments to feel this warmth.
You can now start to come back to your space so you can prepare yourself.
Whenever you feel ready,
Bring your awareness back to the physical space and prepare for anointing.
You can use extra virgin coconut oil or any organic oil that feels aligned with you.
Take your time so you can come back to this space.
Now start anointing the nose and express gratitude to the nose for the breath of life,
For the sense,
For the intuition and inner knowing.
Repeat the following affirmations in your mind silently.
I honor my nose as the gate of my life force.
I am grateful for the sense that awaken memory and emotion.
I release the constrictions of breath I have held in fear or control.
I forgive myself for holding my breath in moments of pain.
I am guided by the rhythm of my breath.
Inhale inspiration,
Exhale surrender.
Now silently offer your nose a prayer.
Take a deep breath in and sigh it out with release.
You can now pass to the mouth,
Starting with anointing.
Now express gratitude to your mouth for speaking,
Expressing,
Nourishing,
Sharing words and songs.
Repeat the following affirmation in your mind.
I honor my mouth as a vessel of truth and creation.
I am grateful for every word that has carried kindness and love.
I release all harsh words I have spoken or received.
I forgive myself for silencing my truth.
I receive nourishment with mindfulness.
I express beauty through both voice and silence.
Now silently offer your mouth a prayer.
Take a deep breath in and sigh it out with release.
Now keep your eyes closed,
Bring back your awareness to your natural breath.
Notice the inhale and the exhale.
Imagine each inhale as a wave of calm entering.
Each exhale as a gentle release.
Letting go of what you don't need.
Notice the quiet pause at the top of the inhale and again at the bottom of the exhale.
Rest in these spaces.
Now expand awareness beyond your breath.
Sense your whole body breathing.
Include the space around you,
The air,
The sounds,
The stillness.
Rest here aware of body and space.
We are about to chant once again,
Hayahay.
Starting with Ha to honor our connection with the breath.
Please chant with me.
Now once again,
Visualize your soul embracing you.
Feel the warmth of this breath.
Feel this embrace or perhaps a gentle breeze.
This is your connection to your essence.
Inhale and chant.
Now bring back to mind that person you deeply love.
Picture their face and feel the warmth within your chest once again.
This love transforms into pure light radiating towards your whole body.
Now see the light pouring down from the sky,
Filling your heart and creating connection with the source,
The light and your ancestors.
Once again,
Let's chant Hayahay to honor this connection with the source.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Now visualize that light beginning to expand from your heart,
Enveloping your entire body.
Once again,
Visualize it going out several inches,
Feeling your natural energy field.
Feel this light flow.
This is your release.
You are now cleansed,
Alive and vibrant.
Allow yourself to soak in this sensation.
I will now leave you for a few moments to feel this warmth.
We are now about to end this meditation.
Begin to sense your surroundings again,
The room,
The air,
The ground beneath you.
Without opening your eyes,
Start to move your fingers,
Your toes.
Gently stretch.
Keep your eyes closed.
Turn softly to one side,
Right or left,
And embrace yourself in gratitude.
Stay here until my final call with the bell,
So you can come back.
Thank you for practicing Hayahay for your nose and mouth.
May your breath feel steady and nourishing.
May your words feel honest,
Gentle,
And true to you.
Thank you once again for caring for how much you have received and expressed life.
