Hello everyone!
Thanks for joining my very first audio session in Insight Timing.
This morning I had a lucid dream of a conversation I want to discuss with you.
Today we're diving into the real deal about happiness.
It's not just that shiny stuff on the surface.
We're talking about the whole range of what we feel,
The good and the not so good.
I'm not sharing this lightly.
For a long time,
I struggled with self-acceptance,
Searching for a sense of home.
I traveled and had many experiences,
Often feeling lost and overwhelmed,
Caught between my Filipino and Italian identities,
Never feeling like I fit in.
I knew I had a soul,
But it needed healing,
And I confused the conditioning of religion with spirituality.
I used to be ashamed of my past decisions and felt like I was never enough.
But today,
I can tell you I am enough,
And so are you.
Sometimes,
You can't see clearly because we're in pain.
Think of life as a gym.
You exercise to feel in shape,
But to feel good,
You first endure some aches.
It's the same for our minds.
We need to practice self-love and meditation.
Only then can we clearly see that home isn't a physical place.
It's within us.
Wherever we are,
However we are,
We are enough.
Often,
We've been conditioned to believe that happiness is something we can find outside ourselves,
Wrapped in bright,
Sunny moments and idealized versions of life we see around us.
It's easy to get swept up in the idea that joy is just a destination we can reach by gathering all the right experiences or possessions.
But the truth is,
We need to look inside.
The light of happiness has never left us.
It simply resides within.
Joy often comes hand-in-hand with pain.
When we think about love,
It's super engaging to get caught up in those warm fuzzies,
The laughter,
The connections that light us up.
Yet,
We can't forget that love can also bring heartache and sorrow.
It's that mix that makes our experiences deep and meaningful.
I always thought there was just a type of love that I could control.
I kind of mirrored how I wanted to be loved in proportion to how much love I gave,
But in reality,
The perspective was totally delusional.
Love isn't something we can dictate or manage.
It reflects a deeper acceptance of both the collective experiences we share and our individual journeys.
Recognizing this has transformed my understanding of love,
Highlighting its complexity and the beauty that exists within its unpredictability.
Like in the song,
Dog's Days Are Over,
One of my favorite songs,
Happiness can hit you out of nowhere,
Almost like a freight train.
In those joyful moments,
It's crucial to remember our past,
The times we've longed for something and the pain we've faced.
Embracing the journey shapes who we are and helps to illuminate the path within.
If you ever want to ask me if I regret anything or would change anything from my past,
Now I reflect on that question through the lens of free will and accountability.
Honestly,
I wouldn't change a thing.
Every trial and error,
Every lesson learned holds immense value,
But those experiences are treasures and integral to my journey.
I wouldn't be me if I chose to live in shame,
Guilt,
Or sorrow.
So let's take a deep breath and reflect for a second.
Picture yourself running toward that inner light,
Just like the song encourages to run for our loved ones.
We have to let go of the past baggage if we want to feel truly happy.
It's time to embrace self-love and the courage that the beauty we seek is not out there,
But within us.
Feel that joy today while honoring the lessons those tough times taught us.
Each experience,
Whether painful or joyful,
Helps us grow.
As you breathe in,
Feel your heart with compassion for yourself,
Experiencing and appreciating the strength that emerges from your struggles.
Let go of any old grief,
Making room for the brightness that comes from within.
Happiness isn't just about avoiding pain,
It's about fully embracing every part of your story,
Acknowledging that the light we seek has always been there,
Waiting for us to recognize it.
Let's take this moment for self-reflection and celebration.
The tough times may be behind us,
But the journey continues,
Full of complexities leading us to a deeper understanding of love and joy in our lives.
So thank you everyone for sharing this space with me.
Trust your path and remember your happiness is a beautiful blend of inner light and the lessons learned along the way.
