Welcome to Be With Melinda.
Today we enter the Jewish mystical journey of Ruach.
You do not need to know Hebrew or be Jewish to receive its wisdom.
Simply bring your breath,
Your body,
And an open heart.
Ruach is the Hebrew word for breath,
Wind,
And spirit.
In Jewish mysticism,
These are not separate.
The same divine breath that hovered over the waters of creation,
Continues to bring life into every living being.
This meditation draws upon Bina.
The third of the ten sefirot in Kabbalah.
Bina is the sacred vessel that receives divine wisdom and gives it form.
Just as the Holy One breathed the breath of life into the first human being.
Each breath reminds us that life is continually being given.
Take a slow breath in and a slower breath out.
Again.
Breathing in.
And gently breathing out.
There's nothing to control.
Simply receive the breath that is already here.
Imagine yourself beneath the ancient olive tree.
A gentle breeze moves through its branches.
You cannot see the wind.
Yet you know it is present by the movement of every leaf.
So it is with Ruach.
You may not see the spirit,
Yet you can notice its quiet movement within you.
Allow your awareness to rest upon your breathing.
Notice how every inhale arrives without effort.
Every exhale is an invitation to let go.
The breath asks nothing of you except your willingness to receive it.
With each inhale,
Imagine the breath filling every part of your body with gentle light.
Your mind becomes quieter.
Your heart becomes softer.
Your body becomes more at ease.
With each exhale,
Release whatever has become heavy.
Release striving.
Release fear.
Release the need to have all the answers.
Allow the breath to carry away whatever no longer serves you.
Breathing in,
Receiving life.
Breathing out,
Surrender.
Breathing in,
Receiving peace.
Breathing out,
Offer peace.
For the next few moments,
Simply breathe.
There's nowhere else to go.
Nothing to become.
Nothing missing.
Only this sacred breath.
Arriving.
Believing.
Arriving.
Leaving.
Quietly reminding you.
That the divine is nearer than your own breathing.
Rest here for several slow breaths.
As you prepare to return,
Notice the quiet rhythm that has always been there.
Your breath has been your companion since the day you entered the world.
It has remained faithful.
Through every joy.
Every sorrow.
Every season of your life.
Take one final slow breath.
May every breath remind you that you are held by the divine.
May your heart remain open to the quiet movement of spirit.
May your life become a blessing.
Carried on the breath of compassion.
Gratitude.
And peace.
Shalom.
And thank you for meditating with me today.
