Hi there,
I am Sarah and I'm so glad that we're going to spend these next 10 minutes together.
This is a guided meditation for growth.
By the end of these next 10 minutes I hope you feel more alive,
More hopeful,
More ready to return to the moment to moment of your life filled with a sense of possibility.
The fact,
The blessing and the curse of this place we call planet Earth is that all things here are always growing or dying.
It is unavoidable.
It is the very nature of the earth plane.
You right now are growing.
You are healing.
And while it is most certainly true that you are also in some ways dying,
It is that very fact that gives our life its preciousness.
Life is a gift.
This next breath is a gift.
The question is how are you going to use it today?
However you are feeling right now as you settle into this guided meditation,
Transform your mind to see yourself not as broken but rather as healing.
And if you are in pain,
Let your pain be your guide.
Let it point your way.
It is in those places that you have evidence that healing is happening right now.
Take a comfortable seated position.
Let the spine be long.
Let the heart be open.
Uncross the arms and the legs unless you're seated in a lotus position or the like.
Inhale deeply and grow taller.
Exhale deeply and release.
Inhale deeply.
Feel alive.
Exhale and soften.
Soften the forehead.
Soften the eyelids.
Soften the cheeks.
Let the tip of the tongue rest on the back of the front teeth to soften the palate.
Soften the shoulders.
Open the palms.
Pour your weightiness into the pelvic bowl.
Send your roots deep into the earth.
Visualize yourself now as a tree of life.
You are a tree of life.
Your roots are planted deeply,
Firmly in this place,
Planet earth.
And your branches stretch far beyond the bounds of your physical body.
They extend outward into your good deeds,
Into your relationships,
Into those you love and those you touch,
Into your emotional world and your intellectual world.
Your branches extend out into the energetic aura that you project.
Your soul far more vast than this here and now.
Inhale and exhale,
Breathing in your spaciousness.
Be in the vastness of you.
Feeling now your roots planted deeply in the earth.
Begin the mantra,
I am growing.
Each deep inhale,
The words,
I am growing.
Each exhale,
As the face softens and the palms are open,
I am healing.
Inhaling deeply,
I am growing.
Exhaling deeply,
I am healing.
Inhaling deeply,
I am growing.
Exhaling deeply,
I am healing.
Add a pause now at the top of your inhale and at the base of your exhale.
Inhaling deeply,
I am growing.
Hold on full.
Exhaling deeply,
I am healing.
Hold on empty.
I am growing.
I am healing.
I am growing.
I am healing.
Bring your attention to your fullness at the top of your inhale.
When you have everything you need,
You have the space to take on this practice.
It is unlikely that you are starving or freezing.
You are right now filled up.
I am growing.
I am healing.
Notice the rich ease in your emptiness at the base of your exhale.
When you have let it all go,
No need to grasp or hoard the gentle softness,
The surrender that comes from release.
I am growing.
I am healing.
I am growing.
I am healing.
I encourage you to return to this mantra whenever you feel yourself to be small or hopeless or stuck.
The feeling that I am broken or that things will not change is simply untrue.
What is true is that you are growing.
You are healing.
As we begin to close this meditation,
Zoom out your gaze.
See yourself as a tree of life in a radiant forest.
Each of us regardless of our labels,
Our history,
Our shape,
Or our color,
We are each of us trees of life stretching towards the sun,
Growing,
Healing,
And yes indeed one day dying.
It is so much better for having lived.
On the next inhale,
Allow the eyelids to flutter open and take in the radiance of all that is around you.
This is a beautiful world full of those who are growing and healing.
Have a beautiful day.
Blessings on your way.
