Welcome to your life.
Your story.
Have you ever stopped for a moment and thought about just how much life you have lived?
Not simply the number of years,
But everything that has happened within them.
The people you've met.
The places you've been.
Conversations you still remember.
And those things that you once thought were so important.
And the things that you now realize mattered far more.
Are those moments that changed the direction of your life completely.
And others seemingly ordinary at the time.
That have stayed with you for years.
And somewhere amongst all of those amazing experiences is you.
The person you were,
The person you are.
And the wonderful person that you are still becoming.
I'm so glad you're here.
Going to spend a little time appreciating the life you've lived.
That will be without the need to judge it or explain or wish that it had been different.
Because your story deserves something that we don't always offer ourselves.
And that is more kindness.
More understanding and more appreciation.
So find your comfy space warm and cozy.
Gently close your eyes and just let your body soften.
And just notice that you are here in this moment.
Just feel your hands resting.
Just become aware of the natural rhythm of your breath.
Take a gentle breath in.
Feel your body soften as you gently breathe out.
And again a nice breath.
In.
And a gentle,
Slow breath out,
Releasing any stress or tension.
Sometimes we spend so much of our lives moving from one thing to another that we rarely take the opportunity to acknowledge the person that is doing all that living and that person is you.
This is not the roles that you fulfill or the things that you do for others.
It's just you,
And that's the wonderful person beneath all of that.
Just take a moment to feel what it's like to be here with nothing expected of you.
Wonderful.
So now I'd like to invite you to think about your life as a collection of chapters.
This is not a book that has already been written,
But a living story,
And one that continues to unfold.
Some of these chapters might have felt exciting,
Filled with possibility and new beginnings.
And others may have been quieter.
And maybe some arrived without any invitation.
Would have been those times when you felt confident and knew exactly where you were going.
And others when you are simply doing your best.
To find your way.
And isn't that just wonderful?
Alive.
Because we make plans.
We imagine how things might turn out.
And then life has this amazing way of introducing new people,
Experiences,
And circumstances that we could never have predicted.
Just take a moment and think about when you were a younger version of yourself.
Maybe 10 or 20 years ago.
Or simply at a time when life looked quite different.
What mattered to you then?
What were you hoping for?
What did you believe your future might look like?
Just notice what comes to your mind.
Maybe you find yourself smiling.
Might be a sense of tenderness towards that earlier version of you.
Maybe you simply recognize how much has changed.
The person that you were back then could only understand life through what they knew at the time.
So you couldn't possibly have known everything that lay ahead.
Just as you cannot know everything that still awaits you.
And there is something so comforting in recognizing that.
Because we are always learning about.
Your own life.
While you are living it.
When you think about your life story,
It's easy to focus on the significant events.
Those big decisions.
Those wonderful celebrations.
Those moments when everything changed.
But so much of who we become is actually shaped by the ordinary things.
It could be a conversation around the kitchen table,
A walk on a familiar path.
Someone remembering something that mattered to you.
It could be the sound of laughter.
Or a day when nothing particularly remarkable happened,
But you just felt so contented.
And these moments rarely announce their importance.
They just simply become part of us.
I wonder if you can remember a small happy moment from your life?
Just something that still brings a little warmth.
When you think about it.
Maybe it's a place that you love.
A shared joke.
A family tradition.
A familiar voice.
Or just a moment of feeling completely at ease.
Now just let whatever comes to your mind.
Be enough.
And remember that that moment is still part of your story.
Because it doesn't have to be happening today to have meaning.
It's an experience that you had.
It's a little piece of life.
That truly belongs to you.
And over the years,
You have collected so many of these moments.
And often without realizing just how precious they were.
So let this be your opportunity to recognize that your life isn't made meaningful only through extraordinary achievements.
But sometimes it is the richness that is found in the smallest details.
So let's turn your attention away from what has happened in your life.
And now move it towards the person who has lived through it.
Sometimes we become so familiar with ourselves that we stop noticing our own growth.
Tend to see what we haven't accomplished,
The things that we'd still like to change.
The parts of life that haven't worked out quite as we'd hoped.
But what about everything that you have learned?
What about the ways that you have grown in your understanding?
The patience that you have developed.
The kindness that you have offered.
The times that you have listened when someone needed to be heard.
The moments when you found a way forward,
Even though you weren't entirely sure what that might be.
Sometimes life is simply difficult.
Sometimes we carry sadness.
Or sometimes we just need help.
Getting through a day is sometimes enough.
And all of that belongs within your human life too.
Don't have to find a positive meaning in everything that has happened.
When you look at yourself with a little more kindness,
You might begin to recognize qualities that you have overlooked.
So just take a moment and ask yourself this question.
What is one thing that I can appreciate about the person that I have become?
Not something that you own or something that you've achieved,
But a quality within you.
This could be your ability to care,
Your curiosity,
Your honesty,
Your willingness to keep learning,
Or your appreciation of the little things.
And maybe it's the way that you have become more comfortable.
By simply being yourself.
And if nothing comes to your mind immediately.
That's perfectly okay.
Are sometimes so much better at recognizing the good in other people than we are at recognizing it in ourselves.
So just begin with something very simple like I care.
I try.
I have learned.
I am still growing.
And this is your quiet appreciation of you that is sitting here today.
There may be those things that you'd do differently if you had the opportunity.
And it is quite natural to wonder about those things.
It's part of being human.
When we look back knowing things we couldn't possibly have known then.
With experience that hadn't yet been gained,
With perspectives that have taken years to develop.
So,
Maybe we can offer those younger selves something other than judgment.
Understanding.
Understanding not because everything was perfect or that every choice was right,
But because we were learning just as we are learning right now.
So just see yourself sitting beside a younger version of yourself.
Just sense what it might be like to sit together for a little while.
No need to offer advice.
Just simply be there.
Maybe there's something you'd like that earlier version of you to know.
Something gentle,
Something reassuring,
Something you understand now that you didn't understand then.
Now when you're ready just allow that image to soften.
And that you are here in this present moment.
So now just simply acknowledge that your life has held so many different experiences.
And each deserves to be met with understanding.
Now there's something else I'd love for you to consider.
As the years pass,
The world sometimes begins to define us differently.
Maybe it's by our age,
The stage of life we're in,
Or what we're expected to do or no longer expected to do.
And without realizing it.
We can begin to see ourselves through those expectations.
It's as if some of those expectations means becoming less or less adventurous,
Less interesting,
Less capable of discovering something new.
But why should it?
The years that you have lived haven't taken away the person you are.
They have given you such amazing experiences,
Perspectives,
Beautiful memories,
And maybe a clearer understanding of what truly matters to you.
And that understanding can really create its own kind of freedom.
And that's the freedom to care less about certain expectations,
To choose how you spend your time.
To become curious about something new.
And to really enjoy something simply because you enjoy it.
You may have lived so many chapters already,
But that doesn't mean your story has stopped surprising you.
There are still so many things to discover.
Those conversations that you haven't had,
Those places that you haven't explored.
Moments of laughter you can't yet imagine.
And maybe there's even parts of yourself.
That you haven't fully met.
So just leave a little room for these possibilities.
A little space for your life to continue unfolding.
So now I'd like to invite you to rest your attention just on yourself,
Just as you are today.
And just notice your breathing.
And just remember that your life has its own beautiful story,
Its own rhythm,
Its own unexpected turns.
And within it are those countless moments that only you have experienced in quite the way that you have.
No one else has seen the world through your eyes.
No one else has heard the conversations that you've heard.
And no one else has loved the people that you have loved in exactly your way.
And there's something rather extraordinary about that because you are unique.
You are uniquely you.
Beautiful.
So just gently say to yourself.
I honor the life that I have lived.
I appreciate the person I've become.
I welcome the possibility of all that is still unfolding.
And just breathe those words deep into your heart.
Just reflect for a moment.
Just notice if there's a little more warmth.
Understanding or appreciation about you.
Sometimes we're so busy thinking about where we've been or wondering where we're going,
That we overlook the chapter that we are living in right now.
This one.
This one that is happening today in this moment.
And maybe that's the most meaningful part of this reflection.
Because your story isn't about looking back,
But it is something that you are living through the choices that you have made,
The way that you care for yourself.
Those connections that you nurture.
And the moments you allow yourself to fully enjoy.
You can be both grateful for where you've been and curious about where life might take you next.
So thank you so much for taking this time to reflect with me.
And wherever you are in your life,
Whatever chapters you have brought here.
Offer yourself a little kindness today.
You are such a wonderful whole person and your story is still unfolding in a beautiful way.
So much life to be lived,
So much beauty to be noticed,
And so much room to become who you are.
So just become aware of the surroundings,
The feeling of being here in this moment.
Roll your shoulders and give yourself a gentle stretch.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And carry this thought with you.
My life is not a story I have finished telling.
It is a story that I am still living.
So thank you for sharing these moments with me.
And may you continue to discover the beauty in your own becoming.
Namaste,
My friend.
