Welcome.
I'm so glad you're here.
There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves standing somewhere between what has been and what is yet to come.
It's a place where the familiar begins to soften.
Where the world seems a little quieter.
And where something deep within us invites us to pause.
In the ancient Celtic tradition,
Samhain marks this sacred threshold.
It's a turning of the seasons when the harvest has been gathered.
The Earth.
Begins its winter rest.
And the darker months invite us to journey a little further inward.
Traditionally,
Samhain is also a time of remembrance.
Of honoring those who have walked before us,
The connections that remain within our hearts and the wisdom that is carried through generations.
And there is something rather beautiful in that.
And that's the understanding that life moves.
Through seasons,
That endings and beginnings are woven together.
And that even in the quietest moments life continues its gentle unfolding.
So I invite you now to join me on a journey of reflection,
Release and renewal.
And this is just a little time for you to be here exactly as you are.
So make sure you're in your comfy space,
Warm and cozy.
Seated somewhere peaceful,
Resting comfortably.
And allowing your body to feel supported.
When you're ready you can gently close your eyes.
Take a moment to notice the space around you.
The quiet sounds.
Feeling of the air against your skin.
And the simple reassuring presence of your body.
So bring your awareness to your breathing now.
And just notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
The gentle movement of breathing in and the soft release as you breathe out.
With each breath.
Just feel yourself softening deeply into this moment.
Letting your shoulders drop down from your ears,
Making sure your hands are relaxed.
The muscles around your eyes and jaw becoming a little more comfortable.
And with every exhalation you are creating a little more space within yourself.
And this is space to rest,
Space to listen,
Space to simply be.
Now you see yourself standing at the entrance to a beautiful ancient woodland.
It is late autumn.
And the trees,
They are dressed in the beautiful shades of copper,
Amber,
And deep gold.
Beneath your feet,
A soft carpet of fallen leaves that are stretching along a winding pathway.
The air is cool and so fresh and it's carrying the rich.
Earthy fragrance of the woodland.
Somewhere in the distance,
You hear the gentle call of a bird.
There is such peace here.
A peaceful feeling and such a beautiful sense of belonging.
So you walk slowly along the pathway.
There's no destination that you are needing to reach.
But you simply wander,
Allowing yourself to enjoy the beauty of this quiet,
Peaceful world.
And as you walk.
You notice the trees around you.
Some have already released their leaves.
Others are still holding onto a few golden treasures upon their branches.
You begin to recognize something of yourself in these trees.
Those seasons that you have lived through.
Those changes that you have experienced.
Those wonderful moments of joy,
Of love,
Discovery.
All of those moments that have shaped your journey of life.
And each one has become part of your story.
And every chapter of your story so deserves to be met with tenderness.
Along the pathway,
You come to a beautiful clearing.
In its center,
There stands an ancient oak tree.
The branches are reaching towards the sky.
While its roots are traveling deep into the earth.
And you feel drawn towards it.
As you approach,
You notice the wonderful sense of steadiness that it seems to hold.
And you know that this tree has witnessed countless seasons.
Storms have passed through its branches.
Sunshine has warmed its leaves.
And still here it is,
Standing.
And it is growing.
Changing.
Living.
So just find a comfortable place beneath its branches.
And for a few moments now.
Just allow yourself to reflect upon your own journey.
There are experiences that you would like to honor.
People whose love has touched your life.
Many moments that have changed you.
Are those quiet acts of courage that nobody else may ever have seen.
Just simply allow whatever feels meaningful for you.
To come gently into your awareness.
You can simply rest here.
Good.
Samhain has long been associated with remembrance.
With honoring our ancestors and acknowledging the threads of connection that reach beyond our own lives.
Maybe there is someone that you would like to remember today.
Someone whose kindness,
Laughter or presence remains so precious for you.
Just imagine their memory as a small warm light.
That is glowing gently within your heart.
And this is offering a moment of beautiful connection.
And remembrance can bring such tenderness.
So allow yourself to be tender right now.
Quietly within yourself.
Offer yourself these words.
I honor the journey that has brought me here.
I honor the love that I have known.
And I carry forward the wisdom of my experiences.
Beautiful.
And just breathe those words deep into your heart.
As you rest beneath the oak tree,
A soft breeze is beginning to move through the woodland.
And now a single golden leaf loosens from its branch.
Is turning slowly through the air before it settles upon the earth.
And you notice how naturally the tree allows this to happen.
No struggle or resistance,
Just the quiet wisdom of knowing that release is part of the rhythm of life.
Maybe there is something in your own life that feels ready to soften.
An old expectation.
A thought.
That has become heavy.
A way of being that no longer feels quite right for you.
Just simply recognize what you are carrying.
Release can happen little by little over many gentle moments.
Now you are holding a beautiful autumn leaf in the palm of your hand.
If there is something that you would like to release.
Us place a little of its weight upon this leaf.
Not your memories or the love that you carry,
But simply whatever feels ready to become lighter.
And when you feel comfortable just open your hand.
And a gentle breeze lifts this leaf into the air.
You watch as it dances softly away and it's joining the countless leaves returning to the earth.
There is something deeply reassuring about this natural cycle.
Nothing needs to be hurried here.
So now quietly whisper to yourself.
I give myself permission to soften.
I release what feels ready with kindness.
I make room for peace within my heart.
Just feel the echoes of those words deep into your being.
You rise now from beneath the oak tree.
And you notice another pathway leading towards a beautiful stone archway.
Its surface is covered in soft green moss.
And delicate ivy winds around its edges.
Beyond this archway you can see the gentle glow of light that is filtering through the trees and you begin walking towards it.
As you approach,
You realize that this is your sacred threshold.
It's a symbolic place between the experiences that you have known and those possibilities still waiting to unfold.
So just stand here for a moment.
Just feel the earth beneath your feet.
The quiet strength of your body.
And the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Maybe you recognize that you have already crossed so many thresholds in your life.
Some that you have welcomed with excitement.
Others approached with uncertainty.
But through them all you have continued to discover new parts of yourself.
And you know that you can meet the unknown with curiosity,
With compassion,
And with trust in your ability to take one gentle step at a time.
And now when you're ready.
See yourself stepping slowly through this archway.
And on the other side.
The woodland opens into a peaceful meadow.
The light here is soft and golden.
There is a feeling of spaciousness here,
Of possibility,
Of quiet renewal.
You notice there are tiny seeds resting beneath the earth.
Waiting through the darker months for the warmth of another season.
You remember that renewal doesn't always begin with something we can see.
Because sometimes it can begin with rest.
Or with a change of perspective.
With a small moment of kindness towards ourselves.
Or with a simple decision to welcome light.
As it unfolds.
Place a hand gently over your heart.
And just let these words settle within you.
I honor my past with love.
I meet the unknown with an open heart.
I trust the gentle unfolding of my life.
And just breathe those words deep into your heart.
Slowly and gently now.
Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.
Feel the gentle rise.
And the gentle fall of your body as you breathe.
Breath flowing in.
Breath flowing out.
Take a moment to appreciate the space that you have created for yourself today.
Because you have honored your journey.
You have offered kindness to the parts of yourself that need it.
And you are here.
Standing just for a little while within the beautiful mystery of change.
Nature never asks the autumn trees to hold on to every leaf.
Nor does it ask the winter earth to blossom before its time.
Because each season has its own wisdom,
Its own beauty,
And its own quiet purpose.
So let's offer ourselves that same understanding.
To rest when we need rest.
To release when we feel ready.
To remember with love.
And to welcome those new beginnings whenever they arrive.
So you bring yourself back to your surroundings.
Roll your shoulders if that feels good.
Give yourself a gentle stretch and gently and slowly open your eyes.
Take your time,
There is no need to rush.
So,
May you honor all that has brought you to this moment.
May the memories you treasure remain a source of warmth within your heart.
You find peace in the things you cannot yet know,
And courage for all those beautiful paths that are still waiting to be explored.
And as the seasons turn,
Remember that you,
Too,
Are part of this beautiful rhythm of life.
Always growing.
Always becoming.
Always worthy of tenderness.
So thank you so much for sharing this sacred Samhain pause with me.
And until we meet again,
Take gentle care of yourself.
May peace accompany you.
Wherever your journey leads.
Namaste,
My friend.
