Welcome to evening release.
Let your day go.
The day is almost behind you now.
Whatever it has held or carried,
Whatever remains unfinished,
Just leave it here for tonight.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
This is your evening reset.
A little space between the day that has been and the night that is waiting for you.
So find your comfy space,
Warm and cozy.
Allow your head to be supported,
Shoulders drifting down from your ears and just allow your hands to rest wherever they naturally fall.
And just notice that you are here.
You have made it to this moment.
So take a slow easy breath in through your nose.
And breathe out through softly parted lips.
No need to make it especially deep.
Simply allow your exhale to feel like a small release.
Again,
A nice beautiful breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Just imagine loosening your hold on the day.
Your shoulders are dropping further.
Your jaw is softening.
And there is a quiet sigh.
And just let your body know.
That doing is over for now.
Good.
And just bring your awareness to your forehead.
And just notice if you have been holding your day there.
Thinking,
Remembering,
Planning.
And just let them go.
Let the space between your eyebrows soften.
Let your eyes become heavy in their sockets.
Relax around your temples.
You're cheap.
Your mouth.
And just let your tongue rest.
Take another deep breath in and just feel that softness travelling down through your neck,
Across your shoulders and into your arms as you release your breath.
Imagine the weight of everything you have been carrying today just gently sliding away.
Down through your upper arms,
Your elbows.
Down your forearms and your wrists,
Into your hands and all the way to the tips of your fingers.
There is nothing to hold on to now.
So just let your chest soften Your heart space softened and your belly is feeling loose.
You don't have to hold yourself so tightly anymore.
Now feel the support beneath your back.
Your spine.
Beneath your hips,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your ankles,
And all the way to your feet and toes.
Your whole body is so supported now and your whole body is allowed to rest.
So just take a breath.
And feel into that relaxation.
Feel into your resting body.
Wonderful.
Now just imagine that the day you just lived.
Is resting behind you like a landscape at dusk.
You don't need to walk back through every part of it.
You can just simply sense it there.
Your day may have included beautiful moments,
Ordinary moments or unexpected moments.
Maybe there were things you wish had gone differently.
And maybe some made you smile.
And if there is something still circling quietly in your thoughts,
Whatever comes just breathe.
Now the evening air is beginning to move gently through this landscape.
Softly,
Quietly,
It's carrying away what you no longer need to hold on to.
Maybe a conversation that you keep replaying.
I did too.
Something you didn't manage to finish.
Let it wait.
Maybe a worry about tomorrow.
You can wait for tomorrow to hold it.
Maybe there is a moment you wish you could change.
Just let it soften at the edges.
There's no need to carry your day into your dreams.
So just take a breath in.
.
.
And a slow breath out,
Releasing a little more,
Letting go of any stress or tension.
This day has been lived now and you are allowed to let it go.
So just feel a warm gentle wave of relaxation beginning at the crown of your head.
It's not water exactly,
But more like a soft current of warmth.
It's moving slowly over your skull,
Across your forehead,
Behind your eyes,
Through your jaw.
Down your neck.
And wherever it travels.
Your day is beginning to dissolve.
All the noise,
All the effort,
Those little tensions you hadn't even noticed.
This warm current is moving across your shoulders,
Down both your arms,
Through your hands and it is washing away.
Another soft wave is moving through your chest,
Your ribs,
Your belly.
Up.
Back.
Middle back and lower back.
Just let yourself become heavier now.
You are feeling warmer and quieter.
And you notice another wave travelling down through your hips,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your lower legs,
Your feet and your toes until your whole body is surrounded by stillness.
It's as though night itself.
Is gently gathering around you.
Maybe there is something from today that you would like to keep.
One small moment,
A kindness,
A smile,
Something beautiful you noticed.
A moment of connection.
Maybe it was the beautiful blue sky or a tree,
A voice that you love or a tiny piece of joy.
And just let that one thing remain with you.
A little warmth somewhere inside of you.
The rest can go,
But the goodness can stay.
Your breathing has become completely natural now.
No counting.
No technique.
Just the quiet rhythm your body already knows.
Breathing in receiving breath.
Breathing out.
The dingo.
Breathing in receiving breaths.
Breathing out.
Letting go.
And in your own time.
Breathing in,
Rest.
Breathing out,
Letting go Wonderful.
Reflect for a moment on how you feel now to how you felt when you began this practice.
You are now a little softer,
A little quieter and you are removed away from your day.
You have done so much today and you have thought enough.
And you have given so much.
And tonight doesn't ask you to achieve anything.
It just simply asks you to rest.
So now sink a little deeper into that surface beneath you.
Feel your body becoming comfortably heavy.
Your thoughts drifting away.
And the spaces between them becoming so much wider.
And if another thought appears,
You don't need to follow it.
Just place it gently on a leaf and watch it drift into the darkness.
It is not needed now.
Let it go.
So your day is complete.
Tomorrow has not arrived.
And here between the two,
There is this quiet place,
This breath,
This bed,
This moment of beautiful rest.
So let's sleep come in its own time.
And you'll simply soften even more.
Allow yourself to be found by it.
One more easy breath in and an even longer effortless breath out.
And silently say to yourself as a whisper I release this day.
I welcome this rest.
I am ready for deep sleep.
And from here,
There is nothing more you need to do.
Rest deeply,
Sleep peacefully and let your day go.
Good night,
My friend.
