From Acute Grief To Healing Grace: Somatic Trauma Recovery 2
by Ana Mael
Track number 2 from 4, Somatic Grief Recovery. Talk about the process of grieving and the new way our nervous system needs to heal in the process of grieving and recovery. Grief is trauma, and we need to understand what it takes to build the capacity to heal and transition into less painful states of the grieving process. Save the track and listen as many times as your body, your heart, and your soul get the gentle "click". You will not die. Your heart space will build more capacity to be with grief when acceptance settles in your body, You will always have some level of grief, but the intensity will be less, and that is when, with acceptance, sorrow shows up. Grief will transition into sorrow when you give your heart a space to rest in acceptance of the loss at the same time. This is what we will do in somatic mediation tracks. Sorrow feels lighter, and it feels like there is more space around your pericardium, mediastinum, your heart space.
