When Self-Hatred And Self-Judgment Rob You Of Another Day
by Ana Mael
In this short somatic awareness meditation, let's commence by directing our attention inward towards the SELF. Often, the body has coped with trauma by avoiding self-reflection. The nervous system, as a survival mechanism, has become accustomed to seeking safety outside of the body β focusing on external threats, perpetrators, bullies, or an unwelcoming society. Consequently, the survival brain has developed a core belief that validation and safety lie in the external world, often from those who may have caused harm. Now, I invite you to take a moment and turn your gaze inward. These meditative tracks are intentionally short because your nervous system has spent years, perhaps decades, habitually seeking refuge outside of yourself. It is crucial to reintroduce yourself gently to your own inner world. Start with these short sessions, allowing your brain to recognize it as a secure space, gradually encouraging it to desire more time within this nurturing inner sanctuary.
