She leads Somatic Grieving Support Groups, facilitates Somatic Movements Trauma Recovery Groups, and tirelessly supports survivors of wars, genocide, displacements, and undocumented individuals and groups. Ana Mael is more than a therapist; she's an advocate for the rights of children and teenagers forced into the horrors of war, fighting for their rehabilitation, reintegration, and a brighter future. As a life-long trauma survivor who was always "the strong one", I finally got tired and quit. Not alive, not dead. Just existing for the past 2 years. But I can no longer afford to resign or let this weary body rest. Life's new challenges ask me to act. The question is, can I act from a place of softness, of need? Can I ask for and require love and support without guilt? Can I still be the listener and holder-of-space, while setting boundaries? Can I remember my inner child when the world requires me to be the adult I never had a chance to grow into? All valuable questions for this 68 year old woman. Thank you for what you provide here.

Wow. I feel so seen. My life has been a battle & I'm scared & tired. Discovering Ana today has actually been a revelation. I'm realising how little I've grieved & allowed my biology to recover from a lifetime of hurt. I need to seriously look into this, because I'm definitely in what Ana calls Resignation Syndrome.

I discovered Anna Mael today. She's reminded me that I am still healing from trauma, that I'm scared of my voice, that I feel trapped & silent, alone & unseen. She's reminded me, & I actually feel surprised. I thought I was further forward, but I'm not: I feel left behind & scared of the world. It's time to renew my vow to explore self-compassion. What does it mean to me? What does it look like to me? What do I need to do to express my needs more? What do I need to do to heal?

Wow, this really resonates with me as someone with endometriosis. I’ve been trying to heal from a couple of chronic illnesses and have been learning more about myself, traumas, and my tendency to bottle everything up and keep quiet. Thank you for this interesting information!
