We often remain busy with the three aspects of experiences: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep states. But if we try to build our home or the Palace of Awareness only on three pillars, it will be weak and unstable. Therefore, we need to add the fourth pillar, and that is Meditation. Please meditate and have a stable, strong, and everlasting Awareness. Meditate on my mantra: Amaram Hum Madhuram, I am pure, free, forever. My truth is unchanging, undying, and forever blessed. Enjoy!

Salutations to Swami Shyam,

My guru,

My teacher,

My father.

And hello to everyone who is listening to this talk.

Welcome.

As soon as we close our eyes,

We begin to watch the space within.

In this stillness,

Let us check and make an experiment on what do I really know?

I realize that I am aware as a person of my dream state,

Of my deep sleep state.

I also know my waking state.

But if my knowledge remains only of these three states,

Then I will not be able to build my chateau or my palace of awareness,

My true home on four pillars.

The building will remain only of three pillars.

It will not be stable and it will not be long-lasting.

Therefore,

I need to add the knowledge of the fourth state as the fourth pillar.

What is this fourth state?

I call it the meditation state.

It is not like the other three states.

One may conclude that the fourth state is similar to the stillness experienced in the deep sleep state.

No,

It's not.

It cannot be compared with the deep sleep because this state has awareness.

And in deep sleep,

One is not aware of anything or anyone.

It cannot be compared with the dream state either because a dream starts and ends,

Whereas the fourth state,

The meditation state,

Is eternal and ever-present.

The fourth state certainly cannot be compared with the waking state because in the waking state,

The mind is involved in the marketplaces,

In the forms,

In accumulating things,

Relations,

And people,

And one is constantly busy visiting places and entertaining varieties of thoughts.

Some of them are good and some of them are not so pleasing.

The fourth state is unique,

Precious,

And ever-present.

So here I am telling you that one does have the capacity to know that this space which we are seeing with our eyes closed right now is something different,

Different from all the other three states which we live in daily.

Though capacity is there,

One does not accept this state as something useful enough for him.

He does not get interested adding this state where he can directly come to know his true,

Blessed,

Peaceful,

And worry-less state.

I appreciate each one of you who has discovered this fourth,

The meditation state,

Just by the simple act of closing the eyes and placing the attention on the one who is watching the space,

You experience peace,

Inner rest,

Freedom,

And evenness of your own Self.

One uses the waking state instrument of knowledge.

We use the mind,

We use the senses,

And we experience things,

Thoughts,

And emotions of love,

Liking,

And disliking.

All these experiences are in the field of change.

Every scene is seen,

Then goes away.

Every sound is heard,

And it dissolves.

We want something that is stable,

Something that does not go up and down with every wave of our mind.

I assure you that if you meditate right here and right now,

All your wishes will be fulfilled.

You will gain all the answers needed in a day right at your fingertips.

Sit down in your seat,

Be comfortable.

No big efforts are to be made to sit up erect with the back straight and look like the pictures of yogis and meditators.

No,

We're not meditating on the looks of the body.

We're not meditating on the body either.

We're meditating on the One who is at the back of all actions performed by the body,

At the back of our minds,

At the back of every experience.

That,

My dear,

Is your real I,

Your true identity.

Just keep sitting,

Watching the space.

It may be of any color,

Orange,

Blue,

Purple,

Or white.

It does not matter.

What matters is the watching.

You're watching the space which is pure,

Which is vast,

And which is infinite.

When you first close your eyes,

Your mind will become doubly active than usual.

And it will say again and again to you,

Oh,

There's nothing.

I see nothing here.

I'm not experiencing anything good or bad.

Dear One,

I tell you that you don't have to listen to this mind's ideas because you are there as the Master Consciousness who is watching the mind.

Tell your mind,

I am the Master.

You are just there,

Available to serve me when I need you.

I will tell you when you can come and work for me as my tool.

Thus the words of a teacher,

A guru,

Or a master who has practiced the technique of adding the fourth pillar to your existence are essential.

One needs to hear about the power of meditation.

Through meditating daily,

One will succeed in becoming strong,

Aware,

Free,

And powerful to exist in this palace or the home as this human body,

Human being.

When you are strong,

You emanate strength all around you.

You too can guide your folks and friends around you and they will benefit from your power of meditation.

When you will speak,

You will be like a mother who transmits the power of learning of her language into her child.

And suddenly,

Without much efforts,

The child is instilled with the same power to speak the language,

Have the capacity to know each and every word of this language.

Sitting with eyes closed,

You come to know every aspect of the language of your real I.

You are never worried.

No anxiety can ever touch you.

No pain of your body or mind can come to you.

You will be inspired to meditate on the knowledge of who you are.

You are the Watcher,

Pure and free.

It may see many things or thoughts,

But the Watcher is one and the same.

The Watcher is unchanging.

The name of your real I is the Watcher.

Remember,

Your recognition is,

I am pure.

Continue to sit.

Just remember,

I am pure.

I am free.

I am forever.

In Sanskrit,

We call it Amaram Ham Mathuram Ham Amaram Ham Mathuram Ham This is my mantra given to me by my Guruji,

My teacher.

The mantra means I am unchanging.

I am blissful.

Amaram Ham Mathuram Ham Amaram Ham The changing aspects of life do not touch the real me,

Real I.

Body and mind will change constantly,

But I am the Watcher,

Watching and guiding the body and mind towards the unchanging nature.

Keep repeating this divine sound,

Which will fill you with immediate inner rest,

Free from worries,

Concerns and movement of the agitated mind.

You will be free.

Just remind yourself,

I am sitting for three minutes.

Oh my dear mind,

Do whatever you like.

Go here,

Go there,

But I am sitting down.

If you wish,

You can sit for five minutes,

Ten minutes,

Twenty minutes,

However long you wish to.

But just keep sitting,

Repeating the mantra.

Man means mind.

Tra means the release of the mind from its involvement in the changing three states of consciousness,

Waking,

Dreaming and sleeping.

Now you are in the fourth,

In meditation.

Meditation is the pillar of your strength.

I will sing the mantra and will be silent for one minute after that.

You may continue to sit,

Repeat and watch as long as you wish.

Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Jai Jai Guruji I will sing now.

Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham I will speak the mantra now.

Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Amaram Ham Madhuram Ham Eternal blessings to all.
