Hello,
Welcome back.
My name is Pratika.
This video is called Echoes from Stillness.
Across the centuries,
In different lands,
Languages,
And traditions.
Mystics,
Saints,
Sages and contemplatives have returned to the same quiet recognition.
Their words are often different.
Their cultures are different and their lives are different.
And yet,
Beneath the language,
There is a remarkable resonance.
Again and again they point us away from seeking fulfillment.
In the changing world.
And gently back towards the silent presence.
That has always been here.
These are not teachings to believe.
Nor are they philosophies to adopt.
They are invitations,
Invitations to pause,
To listen.
And to look for yourself.
In this series I shall share a small collection of quotations from some of these remarkable voices.
Each will be offered in its own original spirit.
Together with a brief reflection.
Not to explain their meaning.
But to create a space in which their words may quietly unfold.
Within your own experience.
As the great Indian spiritual master Sri Chimoy wrote in his poem,
The Absolute Truth,
I am it whom I have sought.
The Christian mystic,
Meister Eckhart.
Expressed the same mystery in different words.
The eye with which I see God is the eye with which God sees me.
This age,
Ramana Maharshi continually invited seekers to discover the Self.
That is already present.
Again the sage is a Grata Maharaj.
Reminded us that wisdom is not something acquired.
But something recognized.
Kabir saying that which we search for has never been absent.
Lao Tzu pointed to a wisdom.
That is discovered through knowing our own true nature.
And St Francis of Assisi,
The Italian mystic poet and Catholic friar.
Is believed to have said.
What you are looking for is where you are looking from.
Different voices,
Different traditions.
Yet each in its own unique way invites us beyond concepts.
Beyond beliefs and beyond the endless search for certainty.
Pardon me.
Perhaps these reflections are not asking us to gather more knowledge.
Perhaps they are gently exhausting the tendency to keep searching.
And as the search begins to quieten.
There may come a simple recognition.
That what we have been seeking has never been separate from the one who seeks.
So let these words be less of an answer.
And more of a doorway.
Less something to understand and more something to learn.
To quietly return to.
May they encourage a deeper listening.
A gentle inquiry.
And perhaps in the silence that follows them.
A quiet remembering of the stillness.
That has always been here.
Blessings to you.
