Hello and welcome.
Take a moment and consider what may seem a very simple question.
But is it?
Do you have a life?
It seems like an obvious question.
Of course you have a life.
You were born.
You have a body.
A name,
A history,
Relationships,
And a future that seems to lie ahead of you.
You move through the world and it seems completely natural to say,
This is my life.
But what does it actually mean to say,
I have a life?
It suggests there is a you.
And there is something called a life.
Something you possess,
Something you are moving through.
It also suggests that you are in a world.
You are here and the world is out there.
The world was here,
You arrived later.
The world is vast.
Your life is fleeting.
This is the belief,
The conditioning that we have grown up with.
We believe we are in a world.
We are conditioned by it.
React to it and are vulnerable within it.
We can spend our lives trying to manage it.
Find meaning from,
Purpose,
Happiness,
And security within it.
But what if this assumption has been wrong all along?
What if you are not in a world?
If you are not in a world,
Where are you?
Can you actually find the separate you in a world?
That you have always assumed was there.
Look for it,
Not as an idea.
Put in your direct personal experiencing.
Where is this you?
Can you find a boundary between yourself and what you are experiencing?
There is the body.
Sensations,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Everything being experienced.
But where is the separate you that is experiencing it all?
We can never step outside of ourselves to experience a world independent of one's awareness.
Everything you have ever experienced has happened within awareness.
Every sound,
Every sensation,
Every thought.
Every experience.
You are not standing on the bank watching the flow of life pass by.
You are this stream.
You are the endless flow.
Life is not something happening to you.
You are alive.
You are a unique conscious expression of life.
Each wave is a unique expression of the whole.
The ocean.
Each wave has its own momentum,
Its own form,
Appearance and disappearance.
But through it all,
It remains the ocean.
Consciousness is the ocean.
The mind sees the ocean as waves,
Different forms,
Colours and sizes.
The mind measures,
Compares,
Names and contrasts.
But the wave itself knows itself as the ocean,
As water.
And has never experienced anything separate from what it is.
And beneath the apparent separation of one's individual life.
There is simply life.
A unique expression of conscious awareness in this human form.
You are not in a world of appearances.
You are not separate from a world.
You are consciousness,
Experiencing itself.
As this unique expression of life.
So you have never been what you thought you were.
You have never been a separate life moving through a world.
You timelessly are.
The infinite and boundless ocean.
Inseparably present as a conscious presence of.
Awareness.
