Hi,
My name is Ami.
I'm a Japanese woman in my 40s,
Raising a child while working full-time.
And I've been meditating for over 15 years.
First,
Let me share why I started meditating in the first place.
I remember having a boss whose mood changed every day.
When he praised me,
I felt happy.
When he criticized me,
I felt miserable.
One day,
I thought,
Why is my happiness controlled by someone else's unpredictable mood?
That's not happiness.
That's just reaction.
I wanted something permanent,
Something that didn't depend on anyone or anything outside of me.
That's when I turned inward.
Around the same time,
I was experiencing physical symptoms that doctor couldn't explain.
That led me to explore Eastern medicine,
Then yoga.
And at the end of my first yoga class,
The teacher said,
Now,
Become empty in Japanese.
I tried,
But I had no idea how.
That question led me to meditation.
Over the years,
I explored seven different meditation practices.
Some were helpful,
But none gave me what I was truly searching for.
Until I met a Japanese teacher who asked me one simple question.
Do you want to attain enlightenment?
I said yes immediately.
This meditation is unlike anything I had practiced before.
Most meditations ask you to focus on your breath or a mantra,
But this one is different.
You take a specific problem you are facing right now.
Something that made you angry,
Sad,
Or anxious today.
And you meditate deeply on that.
You find the root cause,
You feel it fully,
And you release it.
You don't just feel calmer.
You actually resolve something well.
I practiced this for one year,
In small moments,
Whenever I could.
And I found love.
Not romantic love,
Something far deeper.
A permanent,
Unshakable sense of peace that doesn't depend on anything outside of me.
This changed everything.
Love is the most important thing in life.
Nothing else is truly necessary.
But what is love exactly?
If I had to describe it in words,
The closest might be unconditional love or compassion.
But even those fall short.
This love exists beyond the three-dimensional world we live in.
Human language cannot fully express it.
And that means there is only one way to truly understand it.
You have to find it within yourself.
Since that realization,
The way I see life and the choices I make have completely transformed.
I no longer make decisions based on ego,
On old thought patterns,
Other people's opinions,
Or society's expectations.
I have finally learned to honor my true self.
If you are ready to look deeply within yourself,
Not to just relax,
But to truly transform,
I would love to walk this path with you using this meditation technique.
Thank you for listening.
