Hey there.
This practice is for times when things feel uncertain.
When the answers aren't clear,
Or the future feels unsettled,
And there's this bubbling anxiety through it all.
So let's go ahead and find a comfy seat,
Let your body settle and relax as best as you can.
And again,
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And a steady breath out.
And again,
Breathe in,
And full breath out.
Let's go one more.
Nice and slow,
Breathing in,
And relaxing,
Breathing out.
Uncertainty and uncertain times often ask us to know more,
To find things out quicker,
To decide faster,
Or fix things.
For these few minutes,
Try to let all of that noise and anxiety,
Just let them rest next to you.
Don't need to carry it,
Don't need to hold it,
Just set it aside.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Notice that even when life feels unclear,
The breath continues,
Steady,
Reliable,
And ever-present.
You might silently remind yourself,
I don't need all the answers right now,
And let that permission soften your body,
Soften your heart,
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
With each inhale,
Feel your feet,
Your connection to the solid earth,
To the support and the safety holding you.
With each exhale,
Release the pressure to figure everything out.
Release the need to solve everything.
Release the stress of not having the answers,
Not knowing.
It's a complicated feeling.
Uncertainty doesn't mean something is wrong.
Often,
It simply means something is still unfolding,
Is still working its way through.
Stay with the breath,
This moment,
This inhale,
And this exhale.
If worry arises,
Acknowledge it gently,
Maybe set it free to fly in the wind,
Or imagine it getting washed away with waves in the ocean.
Allow that imagery to carry away your worries,
Even if it's just for a few moments,
Even if it doesn't feel real,
And keep going with that imagery until an actual soothing calm settles into your heart,
Into your mind,
And your body,
And guide your attention back to the body.
You are here,
You are breathing,
The air in your lungs,
The earth beneath your feet.
Let that be enough for now,
For this one moment.
Take a final deep breath in,
And a long breath out.
When you're ready,
Return to the present moment,
To your surroundings.
Trust that you have all you need to move through with patience and courage,
And until next time,
Take good care.
