Hey there,
Let's welcome the fall season with one of my favorite things to do.
Stepping on perfectly crunchy leaves.
Let's begin by finding a comfy position.
Where you can feel relaxed and supported.
Let your eyes close if you'd like.
Let your shoulders drop Soften the skin around your eyes and forehead.
Notice your breath.
Imagine the cool autumn air entering your nose.
Traveling down to your lungs.
And warm air leaving the lips.
Let each breath be settling.
And let your whole self become more grounded.
Take a deep breath in.
And exhale slowly and sink further into the surface beneath you.
Now imagine stepping onto a path in a beautiful,
Quiet forest.
Notice the scent of pine and damp earth.
Look up at the canopy above.
All the fall colors are on full display.
Bright golds and yellows.
Deep reds and vibrant oranges.
All glowing in the sunlight.
Autumn is showing off a little today.
Now take a look down at your feet.
The forest floor covered in a thick layer of fallen leaves.
Begin to take a slow,
Intentional walk down the path.
With each step,
Listen for that satisfying crunch beneath your feet.
Maybe some leaves crackle loudly.
While others give just a little rustle.
Take another slow step.
And another.
For these few moments,
Just enjoy the simple pleasure of walking through the fallen leaves.
Maybe bringing a little smile to your face.
As you walk,
Notice the trees around you releasing their leaves in a gentle,
Cool breeze.
Breathe in some crisp air.
And watch a single leaf detach from a branch and drift gracefully toward the earth.
As you breathe out,
Maybe there's something you can sit down to.
A worry,
A heavy thought.
Or a little stress you've been carrying.
Take another deep breath in.
And slow breath out.
Notice if anything feels just a little lighter.
When you're ready,
Bring your senses to the room you're in.
Feel the ground supporting you.
Hear any sounds around you?
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take one final deep breath in.
And long breath out.
And as you move into the rest of your day,
Maybe carry a little of this crisp autumn air and lightness with you.
And until next time,
Have a good one.
