Hello everyone.
My name is Steve Bisscher and welcome to this space this time.
I am so thankful for you being here.
I wanted to share with you a meditation for all of those that are fond of our furry friends.
This is the Sheepdog Meditation.
And the idea is that our thoughts and our feelings can be visualized as many different things.
And in this case,
We're going to visualize them as sheep.
And we are going to enlist the help of our sheepdog friend to get those thoughts and feelings in order.
It's a fairly quick meditation.
We're going to start off just by breathing in and connecting to a space that is comfortable and safe.
One that makes you feel energized.
And we're just going to notice the thoughts and the feelings.
And so if you would,
If you are ready,
Just find yourself a comfortable chair.
Find yourself a comfortable place to sit.
We like to have our spine tall,
Our sit bones comfortably on the chair and our feet flat on the floor.
That will allow us to sit in a comfortable position and put your hands in a space that's comfortable for you to relax.
Putting your neck and your shoulders in a place that even if you relax a little bit more that you'll always be supported and comfortable.
If you're laying down,
That's okay as well.
The idea for this meditation is to simply help you take a quick moment break.
It's perfect for anybody that might be at work and just taking a quick break.
Possibly if you've just had a difficult encounter with an employer,
Employee,
Customer,
Family member,
Friend,
Anybody that might be causing you a little bit of difficulty,
Any feeling,
Any thing that may go with that.
So simply breathe in.
We're going to travel in our mind as we roll our neck and find ourselves into a comfortable place.
Just imagine stepping in your mind to a villa,
A farm,
A place of imagination that has rolling fields behind.
You can imagine looking out as you step onto the balcony,
Feeling the wind on your face,
Noticing the sky and out in the fields far and down below you,
You notice that not only the color,
The greenness,
The color,
But you notice as well that there are sheep in the field.
And with every thought that comes into your mind,
You notice that there is an equivalent sheep.
If you've got a light,
Happy thought,
It might be a small little lamb jumping and playing,
Running around.
If it's a big thought,
But still happy,
It may be a big white sheep or a big black sheep.
Whatever color the sheep might be,
Doesn't matter,
But notice the way that that sheep and your feeling connect.
Notice the way that that sheep and your thought connect.
Notice that there might be even a thought that does not feel that great.
Notice that that sheep might be dirty.
It may have got some mud on it.
It may even have something else.
Just notice that all of those thoughts and all those feelings relate to each animal.
Notice the feelings,
Notice the thoughts.
And as you are noticing that,
Remember that you are in a safe,
Removed,
Distant place where you are just observing.
As you're there breathing and noticing the wind on your face and the sun,
Any sensation that you are feeling within your body,
Imagine that you have at your side a beautiful sheep dog.
He is so eager and so happy.
He's wanting to go out and help you get all of those sheep organized and put away in the barn to be fed,
To be comforted,
To be back where they belong in order in the field before you quiet.
Hear all the sounds of the sheep as they're moving the different noises.
Notice how it seems a little bit chaotic.
Whenever you are ready,
Simply allow your sheep dog to do what your sheep dog wishes to do,
Which is put every sheep in the barn with the food,
With the hay,
All in comfort,
All protected.
With a nod of your head,
With the movement of your hand,
With any signal that you choose,
That sheep dog now takes off so excited,
Running as fast as it can,
Starting with the biggest and the meanest looking sheep,
And see that those sheep are now being moved towards the barn.
Difficult at first,
Sometimes the sheep dog elicits the help of his friend.
But notice that the barn holds with the sheep wind to be in order,
To be calm,
To be fed and comforted.
And so the sheep dog directs every sheep into that space.
As everything is taken into order,
Notice that there is a calming sensation that comes to you.
Notice that the sheep are gladly going into line.
And even if a sheep might go off on its own,
Trying to refuse to comply with the order,
Notice that the other sheep are all lining up and are all moving in order to the barn,
Going in one by one as the field slowly clears.
And notice that the sheep that are going into the barn allow the sheep dog to round up,
To bring those sheep that are running off.
Every time you breathe in,
Notice the sensation,
Notice the feeling and notice how it's getting quieter in the field.
Everything coming back into order,
More harmonious,
More at peace.
Even the sounds are coming in line,
Becoming quieter.
With every breath,
Imagine seeing the sheep dog being successful at their task,
So excited and so happy,
Working so diligently to bring every sheep in order,
Every thought,
Every feeling.
And notice that every once in a while,
One sheep will pop up.
Then the sheep dog gladly chase it down,
Bringing it back in line with the rest of the sheep,
All heading towards the barn in order.
All of the sheeps comforted,
All of the sheep protected,
And everything in line with what you seek.
You notice that the entire field is now clear.
And you notice how much you feel it calm.
You know that everything is in order in your mind,
In the barn,
And before you the rest of the day,
Allowing you to be fully focused on whatever it is that you need to focus on.
Now that the task is done,
The sheep dog comes and is back at your side,
Ready to take off.
And to put any thought or any feeling back in the barn where it belongs.
Notice how much better you feel to have your friend working tirelessly at your side.
When you're ready,
Notice how clear the field looks,
How beautiful,
How green.
Notice any sensations,
Any smells,
Any sounds,
Any feelings that you have.
And simply give gratitude to this beauty,
This peace,
And thank your trusty friend for all of his hard work,
Or her hard work.
As you continue to breathe,
Allow yourself to come back to this space,
This time,
Bringing with you that feeling of gratitude,
That feeling of lightness,
Of clarity,
Of organization.
And as you come back to this space in time,
Just allow yourself to move your neck,
Move your shoulders,
Move your wrists,
Fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
And move your feet.
Just allow yourself to come back,
Giving yourself plenty of time to reintegrate,
To come back from this relaxing,
Imaginative break.
And allow yourself to come back whenever you are ready.
I so appreciate you being here.
I appreciate the follows,
The support,
And thank you for helping me continue to do this.

I hope that you'll continue to use it.
