Hello,
Welcome to this short practice to bring yourself into presence and self-awareness.
Whenever you're ready,
You can turn inward.
Turn your attention away from whatever is around you with awareness.
Turn your eyes inward towards yourself.
Notice where your attention goes to without any effort.
I wonder if it's towards your breath or perhaps your attention turns to that little tight muscle in your neck that you had been overriding,
Ignoring,
Pushing through.
Or perhaps your attention comes to rest on noticing the chair that you're sitting in or the surface you're lying on and feeling it holding you,
Supporting you.
Or you might be someone whose attention turns to feeling their feet,
Sensing them solid on the ground,
Holding them up as they walk through the world.
Just noticing where your own mind turns to when you turn inward.
And just letting yourself land there in that awareness.
Not trying to change anything,
Not trying to fix it,
But just being with it.
Just a short moment to say hello to yourself.
Let yourself know that you're aware of what's happening within you.
Sometimes that can be all that's needed.
And as you arrive and rest here,
You might like to deepen your breath.
You might like to invite yourself to see what it's like to deepen your breath ever so slightly.
And I wonder how you like to deepen your own breath.
Perhaps it's to take a slower,
Longer inhale,
Feeling the air reach deeper into your belly.
Or perhaps you like to focus on the exhale,
Making it just a little bit longer.
And if it feels right for you to pause in the rest,
In the stillness between the exhale and your next inhale.
Just noticing what happens for you when you try out different ways to deepen your breath.
Just letting the rhythm of the inhales and exhale float on the silent moments that arise.
And as you notice your breath and your sensations gently slowing down,
Just because you're present with them,
You might like to appreciate your own ability to create this shift within yourself.
Whenever it's needed.
Whenever your body asks for it.
Whenever your mind asks for more stillness.
And as this recording comes to a close,
You might choose to continue this practice for as long as you wish.
Or end here with me and return back to your present moment in your day,
Ready to move forward in a more relaxed way.
