There’s a quiet that lives beneath the noise—not as absence, but as its kind of presence. In this practice, we’ll gently widen that stillness within you, until something surprising happens: you’re no longer just noticing it—you’re inside it. And from there, you’ll begin to sense how you might carry this stillness, and let it carry you, as you move through your world. I hope you’ll return here often, whenever you need to remember: stillness isn’t somewhere to go. It’s something to become.

Hello,

This is Zia and welcome to today's practice in dropping into presence and flow.

Reconnecting with your deepest self in the midst of moving through your day,

Your week,

Your month,

Your year.

And now,

Taking your time,

And at your pace,

You can begin to gather all the parts of yourself that have been scattered through your life and through your day,

Reeling them in,

Inviting them in to sit quietly with you as you give yourself time for a few minutes out of your day to be here,

To feel yourself here,

To hear yourself here.

Gently reeling them in like you would a fishing net,

Allowing yourself to sit with the treasures and pleasures the net brings to you from your wide ocean of possibility.

Beautiful.

As you settle down and settle in,

I invite you to turn your attention to your breath.

And I wonder what your breath can seem like for you.

Is it like a wave in the ocean coming in and receding out?

Is it like the wind across the prairie,

Rising and falling with its own rhythm?

Or perhaps it's simply the rising and falling of your chest as it fills and empties.

Beautiful.

Notice the dance of the movement.

Notice what it feels like to notice,

What it feels like to place your attention on your breath.

As you let yourself sink deeper and deeper into this noticing,

You might also like to include in your awareness where your body is in space.

Perhaps you're sitting in a chair in a room or lying on a bed.

Perhaps you're walking slowly and deliberately.

Feeling the rise and fall of your breath.

Noticing your body in space.

Feeling the space around your body and deepening your concentration.

Honing your concentration so that all your focus is on your breath and the sense of your body and the space around you.

As you let your mind get quieter and quieter,

And as you go deeper into sensing your breath and your body in space,

You might like to look for quiet place within you.

A center that feels calm.

Perhaps even empty.

Quiet.

Like a still pool.

The glassy surface.

Or the expanse of the sky.

It's a crystal clear picture.

Let the space inside you fill with the silence and the stillness.

And as you bring your attention deeper and deeper to this place,

Let it expand within you.

All the way to the inside of your skin.

And then,

If it feels right for you,

Expand even further.

All the way to the outside of your skin.

Concentrate and concentrate.

So you can expand the stillness to surround you.

So that when that stillness that began inside you expands so much that you are now inside the stillness.

Beautiful.

The stillness inside you.

And you inside the stillness.

Breathe.

Feel yourself in the still space.

Feel yourself inside the stillness and the quiet.

Feel the stillness and quiet inside you.

Concentrate.

Accentuate the feeling.

Make it as vivid as you can.

Hold it.

Sustain it.

Notice what you did to bring yourself to the stillness.

Notice how still it is.

This is you.

This is your ability to grow stillness from a seed deep inside you and let it expand.

Let it expand beyond you till you're contained in that stillness and it holds you.

This is your own ability.

This is your agency.

This is your ability.

Available to you whenever and wherever you are.

Beautiful.

Beautiful concentrating.

Beautiful visualizing.

Beautiful.

Beautiful efforting in the right way.

Take a moment to imagine yourself going forward with your day while you are enveloped with the stillness.

What a lovely way to move through the world.

What a lovely way to lead your soul through the moments of your life.

And gather this experience back.

Perhaps inviting yourself to remember it in different ways as you go about your day.

Feel yourself back into your present space.

Feel the edges of your body in the room you're in.

And at your own pace,

Gently,

Begin to open your eyes.

Letting the light in slowly.

And going forward with your day.
