And our beloved,
Find a position that is most comfortable to you at this time.
A posture that is seated might increase energy for the day.
But if you feel more inclined,
You can lie down and even move about however you feel is most suited to this moment in this time right now.
I am perched on a little warm meditation pillow with my back leaning almost straight.
I am supported by the earth,
Beautiful blossoming lime tree.
It's early morning here in South Africa.
Sun is not rising yet,
But it's starting to show the pink hues on the clouds and I see some light blue skies.
And of course,
Once you settle,
I invite you to begin by simply taking a few moments of mindful breath awareness.
Observe the natural rhythm and flow of your breath,
Making note of how this life force nourishes and sustains you.
We don't need to tell it what to do.
Once we think about it,
We can stop it for a little while.
But in essence,
It's done for us.
Something wants us to be here,
To breathe.
This anchor is always present and it is connected to everlasting peace.
Inhale deeply.
Let the stomach be a big balloon and hold it.
Feel this fresh air nourishing every cell of your body.
Exhale,
Allowing the abdomen to soften and all the muscles of the body to be released.
If you have feelings of heaviness or of worry,
Some uneasiness,
See if you can softly let go for this moment.
Feel them flow out from you.
Send them downstream,
Envisaging the stream and leaves floating on top until you can't see them anymore.
We're consciously shifting our relationship with what we are experiencing.
Everything is still there,
But right now,
In this moment,
We are free.
Free from all the things that make us heavy.
So,
Beginning at our toes,
Let's gently go up from our toes the beautiful soles of our feet that have carried us through everything.
And we go up through every muscle group and we witness where there is bundles of tightness,
Maybe some tingling,
Any kind of pain.
Those are the Adidas.
So,
Parts of us have these little birds that are making some noise and we can hear them,
Feel them,
And then drown them out with peace and tranquility.
We can zone into another birdies song,
Maybe the little doves or the finches,
Far off geese.
They're all present.
What do we choose to focus on?
Peace is not only inherent in stillness.
It's a quality you will find beneath the surface of moving energies.
Yes,
This is Earth.
We have planes ahead of our heads,
Trucks far off,
But in here,
In this body,
There's stillness everywhere there is.
Calm.
And with the air that flows in and out of your lungs,
We hear the guinea fowls,
But there's a sense of peace alongside this subtle movement of air in and out of the lungs.
Even if there's uncertainty of what the day might bring,
Of where things are heading,
This moment,
You are calm.
You can set the tone for the day,
Or reset,
Start anew.
So let's take some deep breaths,
And we let it flow out.
This deep belly breathing activates the body's relaxation response.
In this state,
We can take anything that comes through the day and feel so much more grace and serenity.
If your mind wanders off into the garden,
Compassionately see it and bring it back.
We don't have to think of everything that's bothersome right now.
Tune back into the heart.
Let's focus on the heart space.
Let's breathe.
Have a little smile.
Thank your heart for guiding you.
You're beating.
You're breathing.
You can gently put your hands on top of each other,
Flat on your chest.
Thank you,
Dear heart.
Thank you,
Dear bones.
May you have a peaceful and graceful time.
You are loved.
Peace and blessings to you.
Until we meet again.
Thank you.
You
