I invite you to close your eyes and take a moment to reflect on your life as it is now.

What has led you to this point in time?

What are the events that have shaped you along the way?

There might be many.

There might be a few.

My guess is you're thinking about events that have happened during your life.

But remember,

Your journey didn't begin when you left your mother's womb.

It began with the birth of the universe 13.

8 billion years ago when the only thing in existence was a single point that was trillions of degrees hot.

In the flash of an instant,

This point burst apart into the birth of our universe.

And ever since,

Matter has been evolving into different forms to create stars,

Planets,

Life and now you.

You can be so easy to get trapped in the narrow window of time we each are alive.

This is because your life is only a millionth of 1% of cosmic time.

It's nearly impossible to fathom the length of time the universe has been alive.

But remember that you came from the same point as everyone else and everything else in existence.

How does your view of the world shift when you remember that everything on earth,

Our fellow creatures,

Trees,

Rocks,

Even earth herself are your distant cousins?

Everything coming from the same starting point as you.

Take a moment to feel into the web of connection that lives beneath the surface.

Everything in existence today has been on a similar billion year journey to get here.

You are among the few who survived this evolutionary journey and you survived for a reason.

Ask yourself,

Why have I survived?

Why has the universe carried me all this way?

What am I here to do?

I believe God caused this spark and we are all sparks as they say in Spanish: “ Somos chispas de la vida.”

Wow that was beautiful. I am catholic but I truly believe that the the story of the beginning told by science doesn't work against certain philosophical or religious interpretation. We just don't have all means yet to know what truly happened and the differences in telling the story about transformation varies from continent to continent. The beautiful question remains, why are you here... Thank you

May, you have quickly become one of my favorite IT guides. Your meditations open my mind up so easily! And in times of difficulty, I have always found the most comfort in zooming out to the vastness of the universe and the cosmic nature of all things... your offerings are a perfect match. 🙏❤️

Another outstanding exercise from an instructor with a unique and (for me at least) valuable approach to guided meditation. Don’t let the brevity and simplicity of the recording cause you to assume the exercise will be facile—instead, it has the potential to profoundly reframe the way you think of your place in the grand scheme of things. Ok for beginners to meditation, although if someone started here the bar would be pretty high for future efforts. Bears repeat listening, though by its very nature this isn’t the kind of recording I would feel the need to replay over and over again—better (for me) to revisit it now and then as a refresher.

A beautiful reminder of our origins and how our journeys are so much more vast and rich with experience than most would ever think. As a young child, I remember watching in rapt fascination the television show "Cosmos" with my parents, then going outside with my father to stand in silence, looking up at the stars, feeling I could never truly be alone as those bright points of light were my ancestors, as was the sun. My celestial family. My biological family also being a part of that celestial family, as were all things around me, living and (apparently to me) non-living. Thank you for returning me to the deeper memory of that time. While I have never forgotten those experiences, and I actively remind people that they are made of the stuff of stars, which glows within them, this practice brought it back to me in a way that returned the sense of awe and wonder. It is a deep well of certainty within me again, not simply something I say automatically or lightly. Thank you for this gift. Thank you for sharing this practice with us. I see you and the starlight within you. 🤲🏻🌌❤️🌠🤲🏻
