I'm Maggie,
Your anxiety angel.
Thank you for joining me.
I'm sorry you're feeling the weight of anxiety.
Together,
I'll try and ease that weight for you and find a place of inner peace.
There is no bell at the end of this meditation,
So if you drift off to sleep,
Know that your unconscious mind will still be absorbing the positive cues.
This meditation will help you ground yourself and reconnect you with the present moment,
Giving you tools to manage anxious feelings.
To begin,
Take a deep breath in,
Hold it for a moment,
And then let it go with a big sigh.
Repeat that twice.
Imagine your breath sweeping away all of the negative energies of worry and filling you with calm.
Take your time with each cycle.
With each inhale,
Say to yourself,
I inhale calm,
And with each exhale,
Say to yourself,
I release all of the negative worry.
Do that a couple of times,
And then return to normal breathing.
If you haven't already,
Close your eyes.
Picture yourself as an old,
Sturdy tree,
Standing tall in a quiet forest.
Just as an aside,
Consider for a moment,
Some people choose to reincarnate as trees,
To spend a thousand years in contemplation.
You're only going to do it for a few moments.
Feel your roots extending deep into the earth.
Wiggle your toes,
And feel your roots anchoring you firmly and securely.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in,
As well as water and nutrients,
Energies of strength and stability from the ground below.
With each exhale,
Release your anxieties,
Letting it flow down through your roots into the earth,
Where it is transformed into positive energy.
Focus now on your earthly body.
Starting at the top of your head,
Bring your attention slowly downward,
Noticing each part of yourself.
Relax your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders.
Continue this downward scan,
Releasing tension in your arms,
Chest,
Stomach,
Hips,
Legs,
And your feet.
Back to your tree body.
Again,
Allow the energy of the earth to flow back up through your roots,
Filling you with a sweet calm and peace.
Now bring attention to your breath.
With each inhale,
Visualize a gentle calming light entering your body,
Also filling you with peace.
With each exhale,
Imagine this light pushing out any remaining worry or tension.
Allow the light to grow brighter and warmer with every breath.
Visualize the forest all around you.
There's a path,
And sometimes you'll see people walking along the path,
But there's no one there today.
There's always deer wandering about.
You can hear the rustling of leaves,
Of little animals,
And the forest is filled with birds.
Feel the coolness of the shade and the solid beautiful soil beneath your feet.
You gently sway in rhythm with all of the other trees.
The serenity of this setting envelopes you,
Creating a sense of personal safety and pure tranquility.
The forest floor beneath you is alive with healing energy.
There are mushrooms,
Moss,
Lichen,
And tiny little animals everywhere.
Picture this energy rising gently through your body,
Dissolving knots of tension and worry.
Allow this energy to infuse you with a sense of personal security and wellness.
Picture the leaves all around you.
Bring into your awareness a single leaf on a nearby tree.
It's gently swaying in the breeze,
And the sunlight is reflecting off of it.
It's a beautiful yellow-green color.
You can see its delicate veins,
And the reflection of the sun.
As you focus on the leaf,
Let it symbolize for you a moment of stillness and clarity.
Something so simple,
Yet profoundly grounding.
As you stand tall like the tree,
Repeat to yourself,
I am grounded.
I am safe.
I am at peace.
I am grounded.
I am safe.
I am at peace.
Feel these affirmations taking root within you,
Strengthening your connection to the earth,
And your sense of personal stability.
Spend a few moments in this space,
Breathing deeply,
And basking in the tranquility of the forest.
When you are ready,
Slowly bring your awareness back to your surroundings,
Here in your earthly body,
And carry the sense of calm and resilience with you into your day.
