Hi,

I'm Linda Chow and welcome to this guided morning meditation.

Mornings are the most sacred time of the day for me.

So the first thing I do when I open my eyes is to take a deep breath in and place my hand on my body to be grateful.

I am grateful to have another day on this planet.

This gratefulness create a loving intention for my day.

To recognize the fact I am alive,

That being alive is a gift.

This small act cultivate reverence,

A deep love and respect.

We hold our lives with reverence from the moment we first awake.

All life is sacred.

The power lies in now.

I'm going to guide you through the practice.

I regularly use to hold my life in gratitude.

So let's go ahead set yourself up in a comfortable seat.

I am sitting on the floor on one block.

You can join me and rest your hands on your lap.

Whenever you are ready,

Go ahead and close your eyes.

If that doesn't feel comfortable,

You can gaze softly down towards the tip of your nose.

And let's get started.

Take a deep breath in and exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale,

Allow yourself to land in the safety of your own container.

Give yourself permission to be here,

Settling the water of your body.

Allow yourself to be heavy,

To be supported by the earth underneath you.

Know that if you ever get lost in thoughts,

To-do list,

Worries,

It's all ok.

Exhale,

Just come back to your breath,

Your anchor.

The rise and fall of your belly and your chest.

The sensation of aliveness,

Just tune in.

Let's start with a rhetorical question.

When is the last time you wake up instead of feeling dreadful with yesterday's news,

But feeling grateful and joyful?

Often when we wake up,

We quickly check our phone for yesterday's news and messages.

The rejuvenation from the long night sleep is quickly worn out by the past news and dreadful information.

Going into our day feeling ungrounded,

Anxious about the unknown future and constant fear of missing out.

First thing in the morning,

We want to unplug ourselves from the world and connect with our inner source,

Be grounded with peace,

Show gratitude to the presence being.

It's that gratitude that create joy and move us away from the ego.

Take a moment to connect with your breath,

Your anchor,

The rise and fall of your belly and your chest.

I want you to bring your hands up to your eyes,

Place them gently on top of your eyelids.

I want you to give thanks to those eyes,

Give thanks for the gift of seeing,

For the gift of being able to watch light dancing across the surfaces,

For the gift of seeing steam rise from a cup of tea.

For the gift of seeing a smile,

I want you to put your hands lightly on the tip of your lips,

One on your lips,

One on your throat.

Take thanks now for the gift of speech,

For the gift of sound that we create.

Realize in the power we hold,

The power our words hold.

All can heal and uplift with our words.

Place your hands now on your ears and give thanks for the hearing,

Being able to hear the bud,

The crunches of snow underneath your feet,

The sound of wind passing through leaves.

Give thanks for the gift of sound,

For the gift of hearing.

Place your hands on top of your heart center,

Your energy source,

Where fear and love reside.

Bow your head deeply in reverence,

Respect for the divine intelligence at the center of you.

You are able to feel and know love because of the space in you.

You are able to know and feel love because you have a heart.

Give thanks now for the gift of feeling,

For the gift of wisdom of the heart.

I want you to give thanks now for your body,

For your limbs,

For your feet,

For your toes.

Thank you for carrying me through my day,

For giving life to me,

For these arms that I get to hold and love and comfort.

And thank you for these feet carrying me through my day.

I thank you for all of you.

Reconnect with your breath,

Your anchor,

That sensation of aliveness just filling in.

Notice how awake,

Alive and grateful you feel.

When we wake up our body with a light of presence,

It becomes our nature to focus on what we are grateful for,

To experience life in gratitude and living with a loving and joyful heart.

Whenever you are ready,

Open your eyes to the light of this day.

No matter what you encounter,

No matter what confronts you,

You can always come back to this inner wisdom,

The stillness being living at the very core of you where everything we need is right at your foundation.

Thank you so much for showing up today and practicing with me.

It's been an absolute pleasure to start the day with you.

My name is Linda Chow.

Namaste.

Namaste.
